  1. Definitely would be keeping them and not flipping them. I was honestly surprised I had those DC sketch covers, since I'm mostly a Marvel guy.
  2. I've got a couple blank cover DC books I'm going to have someone do a sketch on (not a famous artist; it's a guy I've bought a couple sketch covers from in the past). The books are: Action Comics #1000 and Grayson #1. The obvious choices would be Superman and Grayson respectively, but I thought I'd throw it out to you all to see if there are other cool suggestions. I'll probably have to send the books off to him in about 3 weeks so they're done in time for me to pick them up at the Motor City Comic Con and get them submitted for grading/slabbing. Please offer up any suggestions! I'm also looking to see if I can get my hands on a couple Marvel books for him to do as well (not sure I currently have any Marvel blank covers).
  3. Hit my goal with improving every round - even hit a couple of bullseyes. Thanks for the contest - it was great!
  4. Cool post. I noticed a few of these sites are no longer operational: heritagecomics.com collectorsassemble.com ComicCollectors.net (is now qualitycomix.com) pcei.com pgcmint.com colmorecomics.com vaultauctions.com goldlustcomics.com
  5. Thanks for the link! The minimum # of posts is 50. I went above that a week or so ago (it was actually my first post, which got rejected - lol).
  6. Wow - really cool books from the 40s. Cool to see.
  7. I haven't been able to find anything. I have some old Spideys that need to be wrapped up in their original covers.
  8. @Mgc015 Nice books! I've got all the same Spideys I still need to submit, and have been looking for a decent price on the 1st Echo. I also second the pressing service. I had a Sig Series book I had pressed - I would have hoped for an 8 or 8.5 before pressing (spine roll), and it came back as a 9.8.
  9. I'm new here, but agree 100%. This is not only fun, it will help me get a better understanding of what sort of grade I could expect from a book in the future. Thank you!
  10. I think I'm the cellar dweller after round 1, but this is a way to improve my knowledge. I'm here til the end.
  11. Fairly new to the forum & was just pointed here (I posted to an incorrect spot). This thread looks great - I love the Marvel Team-Ups, especially. Used to always love reading Torch vs Iceman. Submitted these at a Comic Con in November & I just got them back today.
  12. Thanks! That's what I've been using (looks better), but I wasn't sure if it really mattered.
