Have I mentioned Sand Sharks? So these sharks have somehow evolved to swim in sand, instead of water. Despite the fact that there's really nothing under the desert floor for the most part to feed on, they've done this. They then attack humans in this one small town, the only small town where they've mutated to do this, naturally.

How can you stay safe from them? Stand on concrete. They can't get through concrete. That's the rules. Okay.

It contains the immortal line "They're not just SAND sharks.... THEY'RE LAND SHARKS!" as one destroys a mountain, revealing it had been hiding in a mountain, motionless, doing... Well, we don't know what. Now, little known fact, but there's not exactly a tonne of oxygen under the sand, but they can breathe just fine, and when they take victims under, and their victims come back up for air, like in any shark attack movie, they're gasping as if they've been underwater, not spitting out sand.

It's probably the worst movie I've ever seen, thus making it the best I've ever seen.

That or the shark movie that was basically a student film, but it did get a proper Bluray release and small theatrical run, the name escapes me, it was a generic shark movie name. They were supposed to be stranded at sea, but they'd filmed on a small pond, as you could see the land behind them in every shot, and the water was only knee deep, so it was kinda hard to take them seriously when they were whining about being so far out at sea with no food and water, no land for miles around, when they could have just hopped out of the boat and walked 15 feet and been on the shore, drama over.

And of course, they needed a shark. They did not size the shark to the water depth. So this massive 20ft shark was barrelling out of water about 10 inches deep, with no shadow, no body, just a shark head. It was hilarious too. Full marks for production. Almost at Birdemic level.

So I take it there was no guest appearance by the original Land Shark?

Your post had me waxing nostalgic for this book and had to pull it out and look it over again.  It was purchased at the height of Frank Miller mania (before he was making regular appearances).  I knew I wanted it inked and had an opportunity to have it done by the Miller’s inker the great Klaus Janson.  Was just as impressed then as I am now……

But this tread is for 1 thing and 1 thing only.

Predictions on what will skyrocket in value in 10-40 years.  Like that can be acquired now for $5000-$100,000 but HAS A CHANCE to be worth $1,000,000-$20,000,000 in 10 to 40 years.

You could try lottery tickets, $100,000 buys a lot of 'em! (thumbsu

It began in the 1920s when sports journalist John J. Fitz Gerald wrote a column for the New York Morning Telegraph about the many horse races and racecourses in and around New York. He referred to the substantial prizes to be won as “the big apple,” symbolizing the biggest and best one can achieve.

That's a lot more... nebulous...than I was expecting. Incredibly interesting though.

It does bring up the question of why he thought a big apple symbolized the biggest and best one can achieve.

Why is New York called 'The Big Apple'? That seems kinda out of left-field.

Had it happen 5 times so far over the last couple of weeks while browsing.

Did it show a car with a starting point and a short "map" to the end of its journey where you had to click to prove?  The one I had was generated from boards.cgccomics.com url and went directly to the forum when I clicked.

I love love love Tom Hiddleston...I could watch him dance for an hour. As a matter of fact, they should have had him dancing.
The time slipping was annoying, redoing the same thing 1,000 times was boring...and I was disappointed in the end.

I actually liked Secret Invasion better. I liked Black Adam a LOT better

As long as he doesn't twerk (tsk)
