  15. @alwaysbronze No I'm talking Grand total. It's my understanding that less than 10, some where around 7 were done in total before it was completely shut down. That's why I'm asking Chris because Chris was there when it happened
  16. @comix4fun Chirs Caira, can you confirm for me? I feel like the number was 7 Mazz s/s books before the lock.
  17. Batman #405 CGC 9.8 s/s Frank Miller w/ David Mazzucchelli - $2200 Now, here's the thing---if you've seen this, you know the story. If not, here's where this is at. Most (but not all) s/s collectors know that Mazzucchelli is one of the last white whales (a hold out) for CGC s/s. He's not interested in the program, doesn't believe in it. So we can't get a full blown yellow label without him signing off on paperwork. Which is exactly what he does not want to do. Additionally, he is a GHOST when it comes to public appearances. Straight up, prior to this event that I was at in early 2019, his prior convention appearance was something like 10 or 12 years back. There are less than 7 CGC signature series out there to authenticate his signature. All in black hole collections. I was asked to come to this 2019 event specifically to facilitate and witness for CGC s/s for guests like Neal Adams, Klaus Janson, etc. Mazzucchelli was a guest of honor, and in the interest of full transparency, we tried both prior to the event and during to potentially sway him in the other direction. He was friendly, cordial, but firm. SO. That being said. There were a handful of books signed (and my witness was present) by Mazzucchelli that were able to get (see the image) yellow label with a green stripe. Yellow to authenticate Frank Miller, but because we couldn't do full blown s/s on the double sig, green stripe top of label with notes "Mazzucchelli written on cover in marker." This may be about as authentic as you're going to get if you're looking for Mazzucchelli signature series. If you're holding out for the potential of another signing down the road at some point, don't hold your breath. If you think he may change his mind, I'm here to tell you first hand... NO means NO. :-( As for the book itself, it's an uncirculated file copy, white pages, perfect centering and flawless signatures. IMHO, it's gem.
