  1. Star Trek #54 CGC 9.6 s/s Sally Kellerman & Teri Garr God bless this poor woman---I know Garr has had significant health issues over the years, but if you had seen her that night, you'd have wished for her sake she was anywhere else but at a convention signing photos. LONG line, her first public appearance, and this book pictured is one of only two (yes, only 2 books) for CGC signature series.
  2. Sons of Anarchy #1 (Variant cover D, jail photo variant) CGC 9.8 s/s Ryan Hurst (Opie)
  3. Sons of Anarchy #1 CGC 9.4 s/s Mark Boone Jr. (Bobby) & Ryan Hurst (Opie)
  4. From the recent CHILLER show. Some SoA s/s books----glad to get them there---with the show ending, it was pretty much all around confirmed that for the time being, there was no further plans for any other appearances or signings. And some of these are client books too, but I had to show these off---- Sons of Anarchy #1 (Mayhem variant) CGC 9.8 s/s William Lucking (Piney), Tommy Flanagan (Chibs), Kristen Renton (Lyla), David LaBrava (Happy), Mark Boone Jr. (Bobby), Ryan Hurst (Opie)
  5. I think the only person more excited to finally get that Scott Pilgrim book done might have been ME---I've been carrying that book for Troy for over two years now----I think Frank Miller signings were less of a hassle then Bryan Lee O'Malley signings. He's always limited---maybe about 90 min at the Oni booth twice during a show---and the crowds that would be circling the booth for him were 10 deep easy. :whatthe: Thanks to Felix Lu for the assist!!!! It takes a village to get a Scott Pilgrim s/s
  6. Finally, a response---an excuse and then I honestly just simply said I was tired of people bidding and not paying, and it is getting out of hand. I've been alerted by several board members---not one or two but SEVERAL board members that these kinds of shenanigans are typical are habitual from this person. And finally, a proper response from the oceanavekid, after I really, just flat out tired of excuses. It comes down to this----if you can't afford an item, don't buy it. I just find that this behavior seems to be habitual with this person, and I would rather not deal with it. That's pretty much what this thread and the probation thread was for, or so I thought, so that we can let each other know in full disclosure who is problematic, and then based on that information, you have the choice to either block or not deal with these people. In this case, there seems to be several different bits and pieces regarding past transactions. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7744731#Post7744731 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7746429#Post7746429 http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7770609#Post7770609

I don't think I'm the one in the wrong here. Sorry. And finally, a proper response from the oceanavekid, after I really, just flat out tired of excuses. 8. I actually did that---but I realized he never responded (either) to the first PM that I sent him several days ago. It remains unread. Unfortunately, I've had to deal with a lot of non-paying bidders these days.
  9. I was told by a few board members that it wouldn't be a bad idea to add this fellow boardie to the probation list based on what's happening with an ebay transaciton. Another non-paying bidder, with (up till yesterday) no response to any email attempts via the boards, ebay or general email. I did get one email saying he "really wants the book" but his phone has been out of service. I have no idea what that has to do with anything. Add board member oceanavekid to your block list of nonpaying bidders. No response to emails, PMs or eBay communication through the course of two weeks after a listing ended. Paypal e-check initiated two or three days ago. Then cancelled today. Then re-initiated again. Claims some issue with his bank. Ebay user handle is crisis_comics If this clears itself up, I'll come back and post such. But my general overall feelings on this buyer most of the time he's been on the message boards is "tire kicker" with several WTB threads. If I'm wrong or confusing him with someone else, LMK.
  10. I'll amend this to say that it appears an "E-Check payment" has been initiated through paypal. I'll hold my breath and wait, but there still has been absolutely zero response to any of my prior attempts to reach out to this person. In fact, I wouldn't have even realized it, because there was no notice sent---except when I went to close the non-payment via eBay that I opened a few days back, there was a memo stating that an e-check payment had been initiated. So, in closing---waiting for funds to clear but still color me disappointed that he couldn't be bothered to communicate with me, rather then let this escalate to the point where I have to file a non-paying bidder alert AND bring it to the boards. I really didn't want to that. Simple response to any PM, email or eBay email could have avoided all these headaches. AND----e-check cancellation. With a new e-check payment initiated. Moving over to probation threads with this one. Thanks for the tips, guys!
  11. Sounds, unfortunately, like a pattern.

  13. Nominate him for the Probation List! Can I do that? It's an ebay transaction, not a board transaction---but if it's within house rules, LMK.
  14. Add board member oceanavekid to your block list of nonpaying bidders. No response to emails, PMs or eBay communication. Ebay user handle is crisis_comics
  15. I recently had a semi-regular do almost the exact same thing. Except his excuse was he had placed the bid and one for a fellow work employee who then "changed his mind." $37 win. No big whoop. But I blocked him anyway. It helps weed out the intolerables. And in about a day or two, I'm going to have to add a board member to this list. Won an item, no response to email, PM, or eBay non-paying bidder alert. Part of me isn't surprised, he's a regular "tire-kicker" here on the boards.
