  1. You made the right call. Great looking book, perfect centering . Regardless of what GPA says on this book, I still say it's a fairly tough book to get in high grade, especially like this.
  2. Definitely post your Tec when it gets back! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone's books look like. Your book shipped, should be there tomorrow is my guess.
  3. Just back today! Thanks to Gemma for helping me get these Gaiman's done!
  4. Sure, these SW books are only 9.6, but they're still the only s/s copies on census. It was nice to see Ken Steacy at a show. He hasn't been out at shows for years.
  5. Marvel Fumetti #1 CGC 9.4 s/s Simonson, Stan Lee, Denny O'Neil, Shooter. Was hoping to get Claremont on this in NYC. oh well. Still top census.
  6. Another top of the charts. Trimpe and Ellison. And this is another that I remembered working on when I was starting on the Marvel account. Back then, Marvel was doing a bunch of reprints, but I can't remember what they were being pkgd for. We were reprinting the horror titles, oddball books that just didn't make sense, they were also doing MegaMarvel, which was neat...an oversized 100 pg. comic that collected silver, bronze, copper and modern stories. So for example, MegaMarvel spider-man might have reprinted an ASM 14, 150, 232 and something else. Really great stuff. This HULK #140 that they did...I can't remember ever seeing this again after I left the job. I believe it's actually scarce, but I'm hoping someone on the boards might be able to confirm or deny that. I just don't ever see it.
  7. Astonishing X-Men #1 CGC 9.8 s/s Joe Mad. Still the only 9.8 s/s on census. (personally, I like the "DIE MAGNETO!" word balloon he added." I remember when this book came out, it was right at the tail end of my run working on the marvel account back in Buffalo before I moved....the AoA storyline just rocked. We got to see the OA on this stuff months before anyone else, and were just floored by how well the story gelled. I don't think there's been a crossover that worked so well before or since.
  8. Strangers In Paradise #16 (Xena variant) and the only variant that I am aware of, that Terry ever did in his run on SiP. Not just the only s/s copy but the only 9.8 copy, period. There is a blue label 9.8 of the standard cover out there somewhere.
  9. Thanks to Kris Moore for nailing this for me. Wish Pollard did more shows.
  10. I think this qualifies? There's a 9.8 out there that ties but only has Sienkiewicz on it.
  11. No one ever thought that it would be anything but his classic sig. It was a HUGE shock when we found out. But it is growing on me a little. Lots of guys have different sigs. Sienkiewicz has two different sigs that are so different it is funny. And many artists change their sigs over time. I am just thrilled that we got him to sign. right on....I LOVE Bill's long hand signature. His standard B.S. that he signs his published art is standard, but I've obtained more long hand then B.S. initials. When we were in Boston in April this year, he signed 50/50 and most all would have been long hand except we had something like 100 books for him, and had to wait till after the sketch he was working on to get them signed. Which, happened to be durring the last 30 min of the show
  12. Sfingh, Hey what's the other markings in the Maxx Glow besides the sig? Scan is hard to make out...is it signed by two different people, or is that sign/sketch?
  13. Uncanny X-Men #171 CGC 9.6 s/s Claremont and Simonson What a great cover---great story---I remember reading this as a teen in high school and then going back through various back issues to try and figure out just who in the hell this Rogue chick was. Up till that point, I think the only time I'd seen her was when the Brotherhood was in Rom 17 or 18
  14. Detective Comics #371 CGC 8.5 s/s Carmine Infantino (top census) *(If Murphy Anderson had shown up to NYC Wiz World, this would have been a perfect s/s book!)
  15. Capt America #122 CGC 9.2 (Don rosa Ped) s/s Stan Lee, Joe Sinnott, Gene Colan (Lone s/s copy)
  16. Conan #100 (kind of surprised to learn this was the only 9.8 s/s on census)
  17. Thor 262 (I used to own the 9.8 copy) (more proof that you really need to mask out in a window bag exactly where you want the sig...Walt can have Garth Ennisittis)
