Just back today!
-
Long overdue Kudos to Ken Aldred, a UK Boardie and customer, who together over the last several months, worked out a purchase for my DC COMICS PRESENTS #26 CGC 9.8 and Hellblazer #27 CGC 9.6
-
bump---for the new guy that got taken advantage of today.
Let Greg know this sheet aint going away.
-
Paradox just sent me a refund via Western Union! I am now working to get the neg removed! Sean
I'd leave the neg RIGHT where you left it...if for nothing else then a warning to others.
-
Looks like Jortner has a LONG, long history of these kinds of shenanigans.
Looking at the old 2008 thread that Zaid posted, and reading the legal history, I remembered this guy from way back when.
I'm glad you got your refund...he's probably going to quickly realize that the comic collecting community is smaller and tighter then he thinks.

No, I have scans of it outside of the slab that show sharp corners. As I said previously it has all sharp corners and also the inside is untouched. This book has never been read as I have several of them. Don't take my word for it, here is the link on the "Hey Buddy can you spare a grade?" thread:
http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3285014&fpart=1
You look at the corner and tell me. I can also see a sharp corner in the CGC case right at this moment. I went ahead and made the scan for the corner so you don't have to go through too much trouble to view it.
Back cover slight thumb crease or barely visable bend or crease, faint...back cover?
If it's a white back cover they can be even more difficult to see, you've got to hold them flat to the light to see it.
Front looks good, I'm betting whatever the problem is, it's on the back cover.
Possible slight bend?
[/img]
very very hard to tell. Beautiful book regardless
No, there is no bend. This copy is amazingly flat and no creases, you just have to take my word for it.
I would suggest holding it till the next show where there is onsite grading, take it with you (I don't know where you're at, but there's Wiz World Philly, Chicago, NY, etc) and have Paul or someone take a quick look at it. Have them point out to you what the flaw was, or maybe see right there if it's worth a 2nd look.
You never know. That's what I would do.
Or call them and ask if you can mail it to them to get feedback so they can hold it and look at it and talk to you on the phone.
If for nothing else, it's worth the postage to find out for your peace of mind.

Something about this book did not come across right, which set me on edge. I would have handled this privately throughout if not for that large stream of glue across the bottom.
If people cannot understand after seeing a case like this how it can make you act quicker than you would like, then that's their take on things. I respect that.
But I would have handled this differently - honestly - if not for that glue and then seeing the book. That's the motivators right there.
I can't believe I am going to say this. AGAIN
THERE.
IS.
NO.
GLUE.
ON.
THAT.
CASE.
YOU.
PARONOID
SCREWHEAD.
But that's okay...I'm bringing it with me to SDCC and I'll let GEMMA tell you herself after she sees it.
IT.
IS.
THE.
HEAT.
SEALING.
PROCESS.
You're really not helping yourself here, Nick.
What you have continued to prove to everyone on this board is what a pain in the azz you can be to deal with and will PROBABLY make it difficult for anyone to want to sell to you, for fear of something JUST LIKE THIS happening to them.
Dude.
You filed a paypal dispute against me for $60 about 3 hours after I told you money would be coming by the next morning.
You are PHUKING NUTS.
NOW I'm done.
Good grief, after dealing professionaly with everyone on these boards for over 7 years, building great relationships and trust, I can't believe I'm even attempting to continue to defend myself here.
I'm no newbie here.
You might as well have accused someone like Nik or Borock of screwing with your book. REALLY.
And to (one more time folks) state the obvious...to tell these people that you would have handled this privately if not for "seeing that glue"....WE WERE HANDLING THIS PRIVATELY UNTIL YOU LOST YOUR MIND AND DECIDED TO DRAG THIS ACROSS THE BOARDS.
So let me give fair warning to EVERYONE on these boards then who might choose to deal with you in the future. Actually, I don't have to. You've shown everyone what a frickin' handfull you can be.
I simply cannot wait for that 9.8 Gaiman & McKean signature series on this book.

Yikes.
Ship NOTHING 'til all money is in hand.
Time payments ..already doing a favor.
He pays FULL shipping costs too, especially to Canada.
And you ask to see pics of EVERY last slab he claims is cracked.
I had an ebay customer try to pull that with me.
Claimed a slab was cracked and wanted credit.
I said sure, no problem...shoot me a pic of the cracked slab.
Never heard from him again.
As much as I hate to say this, it seems that shipping out of the country is always a hassle.
