  1. Hey dorkface October posted a bulk somewhat mystery buy he got off eBay of around 50 books where he scored with a mid to low grade copy of ASM 129 (wasn't shown in pics or mentioned) along with some other books in the $15-25 range. He foolishly posted the link to the eBay auction, as some dink messaged the seller and said that october was trash talking him (he wasn't) I assumed the seller contacted october. You're welcome. 6.5/7.0 on the 129...and I posted the pic and took it down after that tool contacted the seller. Why wasnt I aware of this I demand a repost (and a slurpie w supersize popcorn) But seriously... wow... what a tool indeed... Do we know who he is yet?

  3. Sweet book. At least the TOS was a winner.
  4. Who's grading them? No one dufus. These will be on hold. I have others being graded.
  5. The real question is are there companies that still offer dial up services. I remember them back in the day. People trying to contact you on your phone could never get through.
  6. that's Australian for beer. or something. Can't remember. Had too many black widows last night. It's a red back spider. Unique to Australia. It's not koala bears. get your facts straight. It's dingoes. Not "Koala bear" just "Koala". Australian's are just a big joke to the rest of the world. What bits are a big joke? Or just everything. Good to Know. Forgive that misplaced apostrophe. No offence meant. I am also Australian. The Simpsons episode lampooning Australia is a good example of what I mean. I think it is very Australian to be self-deprecating. It's okay. You can poke fun at Americans, or better yet, Canadians. It's all good My favorite Canadian
  7. I think if I take a few pics in Chicago this year and put them in my con report, we can really open up a discussion about it. Hopefully you won't chicken out like last year. You know what happened last year. I just don't announce everything on these boards. I'm often amazed and befuddled the amount of highly personal stuff that some people post on the internet. Just don't get it That was my point with deleting.I made that post late last night, didnt mean to say this thread should be deleted....meant to say the Chip Go Fund Me thread should be deleted, for Chip's sake. Of course his name is still plasteted over the internet elsewhere but those other threads are several years old. In any event, my job advice was solid. Construction, as an entry level laborer ( no exp needed) takes the cake over a McDonald's or Walmart job. His own feelings of self worth will NOT be positively effected by slinging fries at Mc D's or stocking shelves st Walmart. A manual labor job, will require a lot of hard work on his part, which will help him mentally in terms of self respect. The job I linked to offered benefits, as well.Any job in construction, starting out as a laborer has room for advancement to a crew foreman, if you pick the trade up and work hard...expect to put in 1-3 years of a laborer before becoming a crew foreman. There is also comradery with the guys you work with while you're busting your a** , under the sun in the summer...and in the cold of the winter months... .......you don't get any of that when you take a job where you're stocking shelves in a soul crushing Walmart warehouse or asking a 15 year old kid if he wants to super size his value meal for an additional 99 cents. As far as the comment by another boardie about deletingChip's posting history on here as "hiding" the facts from a potential employer....I'd say that his posts here are really just embarrassing, and if he truly wants to get his life together, and is eager to work instead of asking others for money, you should not have issue with his taking steps in that direction. There are a million other reasons why he shouldn't have his life spilling out over a public forum, as well. And based on the completely inaccurate and asinine things you continue to post here, I wouldn't hire you to fluff the most syphilitic on the set of a porn shoot. 1-3 years to go from no experience to foreman of a crew? Is that how you ended up building a fire pit the size of Rhode Island? Haha...pray tell, what is your work background? How many years of experience do you have working construction? Do you have any certs? I've got 20 years in & have ran 2-6 man crews for almost 18 years. ICPI & NCMA certified installer. ...oh and yeah, I have a job. But thanks Sure. I'm a 10 year member of the Discrict Council of Carpenters, local 608, then local 157, I've got certs in Sheetrock, stick framing, metal framing, welding, track work, rigging, tile, concrete forms, fire stop, scaffolding, aerial lift, hardware, and suspended ceilings. I'm also a shop steward, OSHA certified, have a CPR card from AHA, trained in first aid, certified to use powder actuated guns, and I've seen the Excorcist about 167 times, and it keeps getting funnier every single time I've seen it. Now what do you think? You think I'm qualified? And while we're waving our at each other, let's have an understanding, shall we? I respect landscapers. A great one can do magical things to open space, transforming it into something truly beautiful. But don't call it construction. It's landscaping. There's a difference between placing some pavers in Mrs. McGillicuddy's backyard, and building a house, or in my case, a skyscraper. But can you build a fire pit without a back hoe?
