Sooooo. If I wanted to start reading the comics where Season 5 of the TV show ended, where would I start?
I presume you mean where Season 4 ended, unless you have an inside line that I would love to hear about! heh.
The show regularly deviates from the comics in both small and large ways. The cliffhanger that our heroes left Season 4 in was not pulled directly from the comics, so there isn't an issue # that I could point you to. Others will have a better idea, but I would put the show somewhere in the early #60s, but again there isn't a direct correlation between the show and the comics.
As a fan of both the show and the comics I recommend you start with issue #1 and read straight through. There are significant differences between the two mediums in terms of story, and experiencing it as an illustrated and lettered page versus on the TV has its own benefits as well.
Good luck!

Came across this familiar scene, even the shadowing of Magna's face in the last panel matches Rick.
Very cool, good find. I'm not convinced it isn't a coincidence but either way it's cool that they had the exact same line and that she is approaching this situation just like Rick did.

Loving the evolution of the zombies. They're all mostly bald, no teeth, cruddy looking, etc.
Agreed. It adds to the "realism" of the world they are living in (or not living in, from the perspective of the walkers, heh).
I am still waiting for more detail/development on this page from early in Something to Fear:

The Maggie "Farmer's Daughter" promo image has been posted up to Splashpage. I didn't realize these were on 8.5 x 14.

There is a detailed synopsis up. Major spoilers!
Thanks!

I fully trust Kirkman on this. Really do. Perhaps i'm naive?
I'm with you. I am here for the long game, and I'm ready to see how it plays out.
-
Glad it worked for you all! And yeah I just moved from eastern to the central timezone so I was getting these at 11:15 or so...back in eastern for work now so I had to wait until 12:15. Either way it's earlier than the 9 AM EST or so that I was waiting for on comixology
-
Where can I buy it and read it right now? On comixology and imagecomics.com it isn't available yet. Is there somewhere else?
Does this link work for you?

Spoiler on my thoughts for 126:
Yeah, I don't think this is what most people were expecting or hoping for. That doesn't mean it was a bad issue or arc, but I don't think it fit the mold of what people were expecting based on the "All Out War" title and the hype that came along with it. I really do appreciate not taking the obvious route however, and the fact that the story is unpredictable is part of what keeps people like me coming back. After reading the issue I am let down, but I am still excited to see where #127 takes us.
-
Yeah, just finished it.

Did anyone else notice
Shiva in the pic, behind Michonne?
Am I blind or
are you pulling my leg? Or do you mean Ezekiel?

Waiting >2 weeks per issue again is going to be painful, but it looks like 127 is scheduled to come out only 3 weeks after 126 at least.

how can you read "Google Play" comics?
You can read them on your computer or download the comic to the google play app if you have an iPhone or iPad. I'm not sure if the app exists for android or other platforms, but it may. It's like reading on comixology but I don't think google play gives you the "guided view" reading option. You are essentially looking at each page "or DPS" as a PDF that you can view full screen or pinch/expand to zoom in on panels.
-
That's interesting, I'll have to check that out, thanks!
Sure thing. As an FYI, you can preorder the book on google play now and the moment it is available you will receive a notification email. I have found that so much more convenient than refreshing comixology every Wednesday morning, not to mention I have been able to read it earlier through google play
-
Anyone know what time comixology updates on Wednesdays?
I think it is either 9 or 10 am EST.
Yes, at or just before 9 am EST on comixology. The issues (at least the last few) have been appearing on google play at 12:15 am.
-
It's pretty easy to find a synopsis of the issue and I have to agree that its rather disappointing for a variety of reasons.
If someone could PM me a pic of the last page, I would greatly appreciate it!
It has been pasted into the comments of the 125 discussion thread on thewalkingdead.com.
-
What time is it available for digital download?
It's up right now on Googleplay (I wasn't aware until I saw your post and thought I would check around before replying, so thanks!). It comes up on Comixology at 9am EST on release days.

Yep, cool page Garf, and one of my favorite arcs as well. I need to go back and re-read it. From my recollection it really didn't feel very long issues/pages wise, but it was so rich.

Longer preview here. See post #107 (within the spoiler tags).

Looks interesting...though I'm getting a feeling this "battle" will extend through the back half of this season. Makes sense I suppose, but I know how "the masses" will react...
Voluminous complaints on imdb + record setting ratings. Can't wait!

Well, It's Black Friday, and I figured I should probably put in a request for a Negan page from Mark before all the good ones are gone. Seeing these Governor pages on the secondary market are making me think twice of missing out again!
What page did you request? #117 pg 1?

I am actually holding off for this arc to wrap up as well. This is the only book I am currently delaying on reading. If I understand correctly though, this arc is only 5 issues and wraps up with #11. Per the image website TPB 2 holds issues #7-#11.
