  1. This guy: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=spudn87

So first this person bought something from me (Southern Nightgown by JP Roth), I shipped it, it arrived in perfect condition, everything was great. Then, he made an offer on a connecting cover (GFT Diamond connecting covers) which had 4/4 total, but I already sold one (I was selling them seperately), so I told him he can have the remaining ones for $180. I didn't realize I could adjust the invoice so I did a cancellation request. He said in PM that he would accept the cancellation and make an offer on the comics for $60 each. Later that day I figured out I could send an adjusted invoice, so I did. He never responded again. I tried to be courteous and polite, but it's been more than a week. I had pulled all the listings for him, but I had to contact eBay to close the case and get my FVF credit...

If you look through his feedback you'll see the oldest one says: "Never Paid"

and then on the first page there's this: "Buyer won my auction on 8/18 I sent 7 messages but the buyer Never paid. 👎👎👎"

    The offender's name: spudn87

I had good communication with him up until this point, and I really don't know why he would behave this way, but I'm sure he has a good reason. Maybe someday we'll find out, but until then, AVOID!

  2. Honestly, I like buying paperbacks to read... Guess I'm a binger (Yes, I also wait for entire seasons of tv-shows before watching them, or sometimes even until the entire show ended)...

I really started doing that with comics past 2000, I think.. In the 90's I used to have the old Spider-Mans and X-Men under my bed and one day my mom threw a bunch of them out (they were really my dad's and she threw out a couple trash bags of his playboys and comics), and besides I used to actually carbon trace them with pen and things like that. Really never took any good care of them.. So when those comics became worth more it taught me to take better care of my comics and really changed the way I consumed them.

In short, I have no real big opinion and can see both sides, so yeah.

  3. How long do you guys usually wait for messages and payment before taking action (i.e. contacting eBay about it)? Officially I put my policy at 2 days to pay, but of course I understand that things happen and I'm always willing to work with a customer. I get nervous pretty easily though, especially when it concerns expensive books...

  4. Well, after opening a thread to merge my accounts and waiting for like a week I have not had any response from the admins, so I just bit the bullet and put my EoW slabs on eBay. I made a thread in the eBay Ads section. Please tell your friends and thank you again everyone! I am severely slimming down my collection, so you'll probably see me around a lot more. Hopefully I can get my accounts merged and start going through some long boxes and sell some runs or something on here (I collect mostly modern, maybe a few copper here and there (I grew up on Spider-Man like all 80's/90's kids, of course, but did not respect my comics and destroyed/lost/threw away (yes really) a lot of them)..

    Anyway, wish me luck!

Have an amazing rest of your day all!

    -Tim.

  5. Selling my three prized EoW beauties with a heavy heart; hope they will find a worthy home!

For those interested, the RRP version had some bad prints and mail-in damage when they were distributed, so they're extra rare to begin with. You'll be hard pressed to find any with a signature of both Hickmann and Dragotta, and then a sketch by Dragotta, in CGC 9.8!

    Now live on eBay:

If you use your actual name on message boards two things happen; 1- You never forget your user name and 2- You never say anything in a forum you wouldn't say in public because you have nothing to hide behind.

    Just my 2c

Well I named this forum account the same as my eBay account, which is hooked up to my Paypal and uses my real name, so I'm not totally anonymous.. But yeah, it would've been nice if I had done that.. :p

You could sell it on the boards w more info about who you used to be, maybe have a few folks you knew vouch for you in the thread

post a price you like, if it doesn’t sell, try another venue.

Well, I wish I could remember my username.. I usually use obmit (timbo backwards), but mostly for gaming.. I very distinctly remember BeachBum though. I own a lot of Zenescope comics and I'm pretty sure I bought a bunch from him. Anyway, not important right now I guess.. I'm ok with eBay, it's mostly hassle free and even though they charge ridiculous fees it gives me a feeling of security, and that goes for the buyer as well..

I really appreciate all your advice guys, thank you so much!

Should you sell it? Do you want to? Do you "need to"?

You could start an auction with a reserve that you'd be comfortable with letting it go for.

I meant more like, if holding on to it would give me a worthwhile return in the end.. I'd rather not have to sell anything, of course, but, like everyone else, I gotta eat.. I mean, it's not like I'm actually selling all my slabs and comics, but I'll probably empty a couple of longboxes in the end..

  9. Thanks for replying and yeah, totally understandable.. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Funny thing, I think I originally bought it from someone on here :P

I'll probably put it up on eBay sometime soon.. I have a rough ballpark idea of what it's worth, but anyone's opinion on it is welcome, and none are wrong. I'd rather be safe than sorry with an expensive slab like that...

  10. Hey guys and girls,

My name is Tim and I am currently selling a bunch of my comics on eBay.

I used to be a member of this board (I was very active around 2013-2016 maybe), but I don't remember the info to my old account and the e-mail is probably long gone.

Anyway, I hope I can ask you all for some serious advice. One of the slabs I want to sell is this:

East of West #1 Diamond Summit Variant, signed by Hickman and signed and sketched by Dragotta.

I am having a hard time figuring out what to do.. Not sure about the price, should I do an auction, should I try to sell it here? Should I not sell it at all?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

    -Tim.
