  1. I would just about poop myself for a 9.9 RRP. I'm trying to be realistic though, all looked like solid 9.8 candidates, so, fingers crossed.
  2. The four RRP's I had double signed just got listed as graded. Here's hoping they all come back 9.8's and that I don't lose my mind waiting to find out! Dropping off my other two at wizard world Portland and keeping them blue label.
  3. Wat the is this thread doing on page 2? You people are slippin'...
  4. Still on their way. Patience young jedi...
  5. Glad to hear that they're okay. That sucks, but at least everyones safe.
  6. Is it focused around antonia levay? Havent made it down to my LCS yet.
  7. Im honestly starting to think that it was a dash in back of the NM, not a minus. It was listed 2 other places in the description as NM. Either way, the scan looked crispy, and I cant wait to get it slabbed.
  8. Just for accuracy, theres 4 SS rrp's I had submitted at NYCC that havent made it back yet, and 2 more raws I'm submitting at wizard world portland. So once those are graded (all look 9.8) we'll be dead even at 27 blue and 27 yellow. Still, not a very large amount of these around. Im interested to know how many 9.8 candidates are out there, and how many were ruined due to shipping damage and ink stains.
  9. Tell me about it. Im re-reading 6 and 7 this evening to get myself hyped for #8 tommorow. Looks like another ranger cover too. And chuck, I completely agree. I can be patient, if they can keep up this level of quality throughout the series, this will be one for the history books. The charecter design, worldbuilding, and mix of colonial futurism set this book apart from all others in my opinion. Between east of west, prophet, and saga, image is paving the way for the future of science fiction. Glad I get to see it from the beggining.
  10. I did see the omnibus. I own the 4 first print hardcovers, and the absolute editions. Im trying to decide if I should sell the four hardcovers and buy the omnibus. Does anyone know if DC has been making these omnibus's with sewn bindings (like the invisibles omnibus)? That would make the decision for me. And I agree that this series is going to go far. I just wanted to clarify that I'm not some speculator just trying to hop on whats hot. Im obsessed with east of west. Ive got multiple cgc'd copies of every issue released, essembled a SS sketched run, a Double SS yellow label run, and a blue label run. Its turning into a sickness. Im probly only going to be selling the extras I've gotten slabbed to help offset the costs of my 3 sets. And even then, probly not for a good while. The wait between issues has been a good lesson in patience, but now I'm starting to get itchy waiting for an oversized hardcover "absolute" edition. Theres a gap waiting for it beside my luna brothers "absolutes"...
  11. Just using it to illustrate a point. Selling books (especially rare variants) before a series has hit #8 is jumping the gun. Not thinking this book is going to be "the next walking dead", nor do I care. I invested in this book because I love it. Its my favorite modern series since planetary. If it tanks completely, I'm still gonna be stoked that Ive got a wall full of signed nm issues,
  12. Thanks! my biggest problem is that im running out of room on top of my collection shelf for all these cgc'd east of west books. Im going to have to start wall mounting them. The first box I had submitted at NYCC is coming back today too. All 9.8's SS, with one copy of each sketched. (Hopefully with a different charecter on each of them) 10 ghost variants double SS, 4 forbidden planet double SS, a copy of each of the regular issues double SS, and a double SS and sketched #4 blank variant. I love this series, and really see it going far. I think we just have to be patient. Trying to offload graded NM copys of rare books when the series has just reached #8 is crazy. Longevity, people. What were walking dead #1's going for when the series was on #8?
  13. That $130 "NM-" was me. But if you look at the scans, it looks crisper than most of the graded 9.8's ive seen. Looked like it had no bindery tears whatsoever, and the back was crisp, pristine white. I think the dip in ebay prices on the RRP's is due to the holiday season, not an overall trend. And this is early to be dumping an RRP in my opinion anyway. Once the series hits 16-25 issues, I think we're gonna see just how rare near mint copy's of this book are, and see prices like the saga rrp was fetching last summer. I've got 6 east of west rrp's now. 4ss, 2 raw 9.8 candidates that i'm blue labelling. And right now, I'm planning on sitting on them for at least a year or two.
  14. Or we can each keep thinking that we've got a special artists proof of the print. Nevermind that there were 300 of them....
  15. Yup, they all say AP on them. Nexus said it was a comixology employee that was supposed to number them, but for some reason, labelled them all as artists proofs instead. (Kind of defeats the purpose of an artists proof)
  16. The term floppy has been widely used long before comics went digital. I believe it started around the introduction of the trade paperback.
  17. I've heard numerous people on these boards refer to individual issues as floppies. Just my 2 cents, but it doesn't seem strange to me at all.
  18. Im with you jreezy. Im a hardcover collector myself, and if its a series ill only read once, trades. But I'm buying saga and east of west in floppies, and getting them signed and slabbed. Not because I think that they're a dynamite investment, but because I genuinely love both of these series, and think they are something special. Im lining the walls of my Collection room with my cgc books, and so far, its been mostly saga, east of west, hellboy, and claremonts run on uncanny x men. Collect what you love, not what you think can be sold. Theres better investments out there than comics.
  19. Yup, I'm pretty sure of it now. I think we're gonna see the details unfold over these next couple issues...
  20. I personally would rather wait the extra time and know that the book is exactly what the creators want it to be. Waiting to find out what happens next can be annoying, but no where near as annoying as having a book fizzle out or wander wth a directionless plot. I'll happily wait for quality, and so far, this book seems to have no lack of that. On a side note, Beerthirty, the books I sent with you to NYCC just got marked graded and shipped. All 9.8's. I cant thank you enough for all the help. You even had Nick sketch one copy of each variant for me too! You're a champ sir, much appreciated.
  21. Again, not saying I dont like the book, I just feel like plotting has slowed recently. Theres been alot of downtime the past few issues. Good charecter development, but not the furious pace of new ideas that the first twelve issues had. I'm interested to see vaughan open up this universe a bit and explore the different cultures, planets, etc that he's introduced. Its still a chaerecter based book, but each world is still so new and interesting, that I'm looking foreward to him developing the details further.
  22. Again, I feel like the pacing has slowed significantly on this book. This issue was essentially a recap with a bit of charecter development mixed in. Not much (event wise) has happened in the last several issues. Although I know the big showdown is coming, this issue did little else but introduce a bit of doubt in our minds, and move a few charecters into position. Not that I'm trying to overly complain, I've just noticed at the breakneck speed of new concepts/charecters has slowed significantly since the first twelve issues.
  23. Just glanced at the comicbookresources preview for saga 16, http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=19194 "Two war correspondants stumble onto the biggest story in the universe..."
  24. Yea, they'll probly build up to it throughout the arc. But you know, vengence is comin'....
