The early-2000s trilogy of Infinity Abyss/Marvel Universe: The End/Thanos doesn't tie into IG/IW/IC, but pick them up if you're a Starlin fan (although Thanos #7-12 were by Giffen/Lim). IIRC Starlin wrote The End intending it to be canon, but it was later retconned by editorial as an out of continuity tale.
