and dont even get us started on "2nd prints" is just a color swap, no bueno. Now if IIM 7 2nd print had the cover of IIM9, IIM 7 2nd print would of been selling for $70+ right now, no questions asked, case closed, go home.

The Print Runs for The Vision 4, 5, 6, 7 are all approx 19,000 so, what is happening in the book that is causing #5 to heat up more than #4 or #6 or #7 ? Anybody?

Marvel just released a new picture for their upcoming "reboot" and has Riri front and center.

 

People have been buying Invincible iron man 7, a small cameo at best. Not bad if you are into cameos, BUT if you want a real full app maybe look into invincible iron man 9, also check out that age of apocalypse variant for IM9....gold?

 

 

Seems like this variant has all the ingredients to be a success.

IIM 7 is a first appearance. The market doesn't care about the extent of the appearance with modern books. Content doesn't matter anymore. In the past a reader might value a later appearance of a character over a one panel teaser in a previous issue but that doesn't apply these days. A person with a genuine interest in the Riri Williams character might personally value issue 9 or 10 more than issue 7 because those issues flesh out the character a bit, but that person is in the buying minority. Those issues have no incentive variants. They have no reprints with lower print numbers.

Thats because the modern flipper doesnt read comic books today. I agree with the IM7/IM9. To me issue 9 AoA variant has the biggest potential, the AoA was a 1:1 variant not a 1 :10, 1:25 etc...

It dont hurt to get issues 7 to 10 for Riri fans. Issue 9 will organically grow where as issue 7 only is in demand because is a pump and dump book.

Way too many new people learning the ropes in this hobby trying to find that next kamala/x23 book, that new hot #1 series. We got people buying and praising Lois N Clark 1 as being new superboys 1st app, then turn around the next week and say superboy 19 is the "real" 1st app, when this are clearly 2 diff people like someone once said "that speaks volumes" as to where people are today when it comes to comics.

At the end of the day people can spend their cash however they please, and the new boys in the hobby should do some research and learn it that way, but is good for them to get a few dents along the way and follow that weekly flavor of the week, just dont fall asleep with those books on your hands.

Anyways, enough of that.

At this point it wouldnt be a bad idea to load up on carol danvers tougher books.

ECCC 2016 Books received on 4/27 [went to CCS 1st]

As of today still says "graded" all my friends already got their books back over 7 days ago.

My paris books I already received, they were submitted via a CGC dealer....so maybe they prioritize bigger accounts 1st before new accounts, I opened my account at ECCC

Both orders submitted with fast track.

Interesting to see what itll end at.

i sold two different books for new highs this week. If i mention both books here and talk about them and throw a copynof each on ebay for 15 dollars over my last sells does that make me a "pump n dump"?

I think modern variants with nothing special about them will crash and burn. I feel bad for some of the people that get sucked into the hype. Hopefully its just desperate flippers selling to each other. I mean its getting real crooked.

 

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. If nothing is happening between the pages in these variants, then why will people give a damn about them 20 - 30 years from now?

Because of cover art? Crazy yes, some of us buy good looking covers.

I love variants, if the variant is sweet I buy it, if is a sweet variant plus is a key is a win win for me.

Hello gents , these are some pretty cool books, that I honestly have never heard of.

 

Checked out past and recent sales and we're around $200 for both the X-Men legacy, and the Deadpool book. Not chump change, but not expensive enough yet.

 

To crack the Dirty Dozen, figure the book is going to have to sell for at least $1500 on at least a couple of occasions in a 9.8 to make it in.

I know you may have trouble understanding this, but books selling for lots of money due to manufactured rarity doesn't make them grails (the most overused word on this message board).

You're right, it isn't the "manufactured rarity" or the fact that they sell for lots of money that makes them "grails"....

 

The fact that they are "earnestly pursued and/or sought after" by many, many collectors does.

 

And the term "key" is what is thrown around the boards far too often, not "grail". A grail can be anything to anyone by its very definition.

You still haven't come up with a reasonable explanation for why the Batman/Superman 4 isn't on your list.

 

Foreign REPRINT. The criteria as laid out in the first post states that reprints were not considered.

 

No, the criteria says that subsequent printings of issues are excluded ("First prints only"). The book is question is a first print Batman/Superman 4 from Panini.

 

And as pleasing as the cover image is to the eye, even it is reprinted from an interior page from the English version.

 

Also, even if it were not a reprint and was considered, it has not consistently sold for enough in a 9.8 to qualify at this time anyway. The fact that it is also a foreign book may help it or it may hurt it. No one knows. But it is a variable not present with any of the other books, so it is not considered.
