  1. Sounds like a bad movie title....I married a ......

I married a centerfold to a Sgt Fury issue below #20 when I was about 21 as I had a nice copy missing centerfold and another nice coverless copy. Cut was the same, paper color was the same, staple placement was the same. I couldn't tell that it didn't belong when I was done. I was so proud when completed. I'm sure it's still in the collection somewhere. My only example of known undisclosed restoration in my collection. It's good to get that off my chest. I was once a closet comic restorer. (I might even do it again someday.......)

  2. I found what I'll call a great deal from my LCS this evening.

A copy of Katy Keene #1 in G or better for $25.

The pages are nice, no writing inside, all there, no cut-outs.

The store had it marked at Poor. I don't know what they were smoking.

The major defects include a tiny spine split at the bottom, a piece of tape on the bottom used from long ago to reinforce and the inking on the E in Keene as can be seen on the cover.

    Nothing else to speak of.

  3. And Kudos back to Paul (Paull) for fast payment via money order so paypal didn't have to take a chunk.

.......and especially for not overbidding me on the Bomber #4 that should be at my door in the next few days. I was first vulture on the carrion.

Great guy and nice to deal with a golden oldie collector like myself.
