I changed the eyes again  Decided on them looking straight at you instead of up. My daughter likes to help me when I'm doing projects :-) Added the brass to Conan

Sorry to hear about not being able to add a USS Flagg  I look forward to seeing the pics of the room. Perhaps there is space for a Cobra Terrordome

Almost there. Pieces held together pretty solid with all the added wires and pegs on the feet. I'll probably seal Conan's feet after I do the final paint. I left the brass color for last. That stuff feels like it never dries, so I want to keep handiling to a minimum...... I'm probably going to change the eyes so they aren't looking up

I was feeling motivated today. I finished Conans face and hair

Slow day at work today. Watched a bunch of you tube videos about dry brushing. Conan's shading turned out pretty good. I tried just doing highlights on the girl but the white paint was kind of sticky. I might have to start using acrylic or something 

Spent a good amount of the weekend rearranging my garage so I could get a better workspace. Finally utilized a nook in my garage wall with a bookshelf that fit perfectly. Finally my stuff is out of harms way and room to spread out projects.

Airbrush failed. Had to resort to painting it by hand. I think it's the testers paint that doesn't work that good, especially with darker colors even though I used a lot of thinner

Made up for some lost time today. 

Took a little break from the statue to help my wife with her hobby. Repotting cacti. Decided to start the detailing. To my surprise it's actually not that bad. Just had to keep mixing the jar to keep the paint consistent, but it seemed to flow where I needed it to go to on it's own :-)

Thanks. Yeah I'm still a little bummed about the arm. I'm probably just going to use the cement glue instead of putty so hopefully it's not noticeable. I'm hoping i could possible finish her by this weekend.

Minor set back today. Dress came out pretty nice but her arm came off the seam when I was pulling off tape

Thank you! At some point I always want to pull my hair out doing model kits. Thanks for the interest. I'll have some updates this afternoon.

Got better skin tone colors. Had to mix myself. I think the girl's name is "Tara" now has a little more pinkish hue and Conan isn't as dark. Hard to tell in the lighting but I think it will be ok now. The air brush I borrowed has some air compressor issues that takes more time to paint and I think led to more clogging. I only finished Conan's torso and arm. Hopefully I do the legs tomorrow. I might try to dial in the compressor so it's more reliable. I would like to do some fine shading but need it to work properly.

Everyday I try to do something on this kit to keep motivated. I might work on Tara's dress tonight. The hard part will be all the detailing once all the base coats are applied.

Unfortunately the kit doesn't come with any paint codes or suggested colors. I wish it did. It just has a pamphlet with a picture of a completed model for reference. It looks like the one in this picture below that I pulled from the website.

I've done a few planes and helicopter models, but this is my first time building a statue. It's relatively easy to be able to put together but the hard put will be hand painting all the details where as other models are mainly solid colors you're just gluing together.

Currently where I'm at with Conan. I need to restock on paint and repaint. I might add supporting pins.

Some progress last night. Kit does not come with a string so I made my own out of twine. Burnt the loose edges and used candle wax to smooth it out a little. Helmet looks pretty good so far. It got a heavy coat of paint on the brown part the other day and still wasn't dry completely when I painted the horns.

Here is Belit assembled. I had to put her together before I painted because of the seams on the shoulders that had to get smoothed out.

Thank you! Will do. I might borrow my friends real air brush and go over the skin colors. I made Conan too dark and Belit too light.
