  1. For all the NYC residents... Sean Gordon Murphy is signing Tokyo Ghost #1 at Midtown comics Friday, September 18th @ 6:30pm.
  2. Barnes and Noble will have a variant cover for Compendium #3.... and the cover art has a BIG error on it! Can any one see it?
  3. I got a Marvel Secret Wars #1 Spiderman Black Costume action figure variant cover at a con as a exclusive give-a-way... any idea what it's worth?
  4. I'm betting this won't actually be a "reboot" in the traditional fashion but instead just Kirkman poking fun at the Marvel and DC reboot process. I think the on-going series will continue. There will not be a Invincible Volume 2 #1 issue. This is essentially the advertising for a story arch or two, trying to attract more readers is all. They just had a big push for getting new readers with the 25 cent issue... this is essentially the same strategy. But looking forward to it of course
  5. Sean Murphy did a great pod cast recently where he talks a lot about the business of comics as his future plans for his books... he mentions possible doing a sequel to Punk Rock Jesus and maybe doing a Batman story with Scott Snyder. Lots of talk about Tokyo Ghost as well!!! Podcast = "Open Panel" by SKTCHD.
  6. I think Kirkman missed out on the opportunity to poke fun at Marvel and the Spiderman character Kraven the Hunter by having Thragg wear his Battle Beast skin as a vest. I give anyone reading this post permission to steal this idea and have Ryan sketch it at a convention... I'd love to see it!
  7. I am super amped for this series and thought I would start a new topic! Rick Remender and Sean Murphy... that's a dynamic duo for sure! Matt Hollingsworth colors look fantastic as always! Press release... A new dystopian adventure series from Rick Remender where technology is an addiction Bestselling writer Rick Remender (BLACK SCIENCE, DEADLY CLASS) and artist Sean Murphy (The Wake, Punk Rock Jesus) team up with colorist Matt Hollingsworth (Hawkeye, The Wake) for the new ongoing series TOKYO GHOST, coming to Image Comics in Summer 2015. TOKYO GHOST welcomes readers to the isles of New Los Angeles, 2189. Humanity has become nothing more than a sea of consumers, ravenous and starving wolves, sick from toxic contamination, who have to borrow, beg, and steal for the funds to buy, buy, buy their next digital fix. Getting a thrill, a distraction from reality, is the only thing left to live for. Entertainment is the biggest industry, the drug everyone needs, and gangsters run it all. And who do these gangsters turn to when they need the "law" enforced? Led Dent and Debbie Decay, constables of the law, which is a nice way to say “brutal killing machines." The duo are about to be presented with an assignment that will force them out of the decay of LA and into the mysterious lost nation of Tokyo. "Sean and Matt are two of the best artists in comics and the only two people who could realize the wondrous brutality and twisted romance of this story we've cooked up together,” said Remender. “It's some of the most fun I've had, it's equal parts depravity and beauty, violence and poetic reflection. It's unlike anything I've ever done. The only bad thing about Tokyo Ghost is that you have to wait a year to see it." "Rick is one of the most impressive writers in comics—a masterful storyteller in both mainstream and independent comics,” said Murphy. “Nobody is attacking the industry quite like Rick is, and I'm thrilled to help him do it, especially with my trusted colorist Matt Hollingsworth by my side. Tokyo Ghost is a love letter to the sci fi action movies we grew up on, with a little bit of Kurosawa thrown in." "Reading over the pitch for Tokyo Ghost, I had a big grin on my face imagining this world we would all be making together,” said Hollingsworth. “Hopefully you will enjoy it a tenth as much as we are enjoying creating it." “Rick has been on a real roll since returning to Image last year, and it almost sounds like a slight to his other work to say Tokyo Ghost looks set to be his best new series yet,” added Eric Stephenson, Publisher at Image Comics. “Collaborating with talent as titanic as Sean Murphy makes this a real event, though, and I really can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on this one.” Join them on their journey in TOKYO GHOST #1, coming to Image Comics in 2015. Art work and coloring sample...

  10. "From Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead".... that marketing tagline is worth at least 75 million.
  11. Universal did Mark Millar's Kick-As$... a Rated R comic book movie. Just thought I'd point that out. I assume Kirkman would have enough of a say in the creation of the movie to make sure they didn't "Spawn" it up.
  12. You talkin about that Reedus film? EDIT: you mean this!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.skybound.com/universal-feature-deal-announced/ Yes, seems exciting for Skybound! I assume more details will come from the next major convention Skybound and Kirkman attend.
  13. Did everyone hear about the Skybound movie deal? Thoughts?
  14. I got these books recently and all seem to be great 9.8 candidates... I will be submitting at the next con I attend.
  15. Original art cover for issue 5... anyone interested? Cover #5
