  1. As far as I can determine it is the 1st full appearance for at least Ellen  This hobby is incredibly fickle, and often there is little rhyme or reason to anything. I'll probably get rid of my two treasury copies if I can because I don't collect treasury books and they're in my way... another reason people choose to ignore it I'm sure. Its not fickle the Image oversized book is a one-shot never was a series. This current run is the series and its a different company. The tv option and series is the 215 version. Those are all drawbacks for the Treasury. It is totally fickle - the main protagonist (so far) clearly first appears in the treasury edition from Image. The publisher is irrelevant, it is creator owned. Tim has come on here and clearly has stated that was his first unpolished volley into the comic book world. She more polished in this series. Its like the Gambit uncanny x-men 266 versus the annual issue, the comic book market has made its decision. You can choose to rage against the machine but it is what it is. Just like you stated for many post earlier about how you didn't think the NYCC was worth much cause its a second print. Market has decided - not sure what complaining about it will solve. Ha the market hasn't even started. That was my thought. Most people aren't even aware of the series. this is kind of my thought process... the market is fairly new... i think if/once the tv series takes off the treasury will get more recognition... I have a pretty strong feeling the treasury is never going to be what a #1 215 Ink book is. Even if CGC started slabbing them... few collectors would gravitate toward them unless there is some sort of odd resurgence in the format. I get why T&M actually went with the format, it was neat, but it killed it for most collectors who just don't want to deal with it. It's easier to ignore the fact that it is a first appearance; maybe if we were talking about something the size of a magazine - similar to Starlord - things would be different. Are you kidding? Treasury format was great for this book! Such large pages of great art is awesome! Especially for this book because the art is so detailed. It's just great to look at. And if CGC started slabbing treasurys you would see a surge in the format. Remember that the comic industry is still a huge collectors market. If the ability to slab treasurys was there, more would be made. If more were made, CGC would follow suit. And ya, maybe in the long term for an average collector who is getting into this book because of the show, a #1a Would be their priority, but in terms of hardcore collectors market, the treasury will still be THE book to get. And again, if anyone has a NM treasury they would like to sell, send me a PM. regardless of value, I think the treasury is a really nice book. But again, it's an opinion, so argue all you want. It's insignificant. Lastly, why is everything Frozen? There are way better movies out there!!! Granted the sisters are hot and if there were deleted scenes where they made out, I'd be all over this movie too... But I can name ten better Disney movies that deserve the attention.
  2. If anybody else is looking for a copy of the treasury, I know someone who has two to sell... Sorry, I didn't realize my phone autocorrected "Topher" to topper. My bad.
  3. I'm often in the same boat - I don't really "care" what the market does with the book, but I stand by my point that the market is very fickle. Clearly a first full appearance... but no one really cares. If this wasn't a treasury size, I think it would be blowing the NYCC out of the water. Agreed.
  4. I bought a treasury from boardie Tiger Topper, (excellent transaction btw) partially because I see it as the first appearance but also because its such a cool book. I didn't realize how huge it is, but that just makes me want to display it even more! Market, Shmarket. I buy what I like. If its worthless, who cares. I still like it.
  5. Only if it is witnessed by a CGC employee will I believe the drawing is authentic. Agreed for 1x stick figure variant, but only if we can get your painstakingly detailed work witnessed by a facilitator. I'll see what I can do. Each cover takes around 3-4hrs to complete. I've been working on one for a customer. I'll post pics later.
  6. Ok, ok, i'll do some cover art for you guys. Enormous, the stick figure edition! Sketches start at $500 for one stick figure, and $100 for each additional stick figure. $600 for a stick figure monster. They're not easy. :..like, lots of sticks man...
  7. For some. I am a huge fan of the 1A cover. The art is great, the colors are great and it would look great signed in gold!!!
  8. They won't last long. A signed/sketched NYCC is . That's for dang sure! Got a pic of the sketched book, JJeanius? Yes and no - Mehdi sent me pics of the various sketches he did (only one for each different cover submitted), but I don't know which sketch goes with which book! Should have them back by tne end of next week at the latest - can't wait to see what's in the box! (insert Se7en clip here). Are these your personal books, or the books sent for the SS sketch op?
  9. I've got at least two of every issue so far and I'm not slabbing anything yet. It's too early to see any gain on #4/5 and if they do become very valuable, then slab them. It's not like CGC is going anywhere. I'll wait till I se the books at a price I like, slab them and sell a set and keep one for myself.
  10. I totally knew that guy was gay! He was way too well groomed and well mannered!
  11. Shame on me for seeing that the right person or persons gets credit for providing information that likely lead to financial benefit of others. Maybe you could actually, you know, credit your sources on your blog. This is my last post on this because I don't care about your trollings. Before I had a blog you were always very negative Jimmy Linguini, one time I went to send you a PM to see what was up with that and guess what? I couldn't, oh no! (maybe you should actual figure out how to ignore someone?) I don't remember the specifics of the Ultimate Fallout #4 post, I largely write my posts on mondays and schedule them- but if there is one person I wouldn't take credit away from its the authority. I actually do largely credit my sources which is seen on my blog, but again, you only post about me because of some kind of weird jealously and thats fine, but don't think I'm the only one who sees it. (thumbs u Oh son!!!

  13. You're ego is only tolerable because I trust you with my comics. <3
  14. Exciting? Its just a comic book... I wanted to clarify that there is no funny business going on here with this book. I'm a straight shooter. Oh, I believe you. I'm just trying to cause some drama to keep me occupied till the walking dead is on. Nice book btw. (thumbs u
  15. Unless he/she took off to Mexico!!! But if they sold it from Mexico you're ok.
  16. True. But I have to spend my money on things I like. And I never got into the ultimate spidey books. Just curious about the big sales figures.
  17. Gotcha! In which case, these numbers are ridiculous!!!
  18. Is this confirmed or speculation about Miles Morales?
  19. I'm sensing some bitterness... Ha - more just general overall frustration with eBay and how they constantly handcuff sellers while increasing fees. It's rather ridiculous IMO. I honestly think bidder behavior is much worse now than it was 10 years ago - primarily because the bad bidders have learned just how much they can get away with. See a book listed as a VG that you think might be much nicer than that? Go ahead and bid VG/FN prices - then get the book, inspect, and return if it doesn't meet your lofty hopes. It's not *your* fault if the book is actually VG as described....and, hey, return shipping is now on the seller. No reason not to take a chance! I had a bidder return a NM book because it has one small spine stress that measured 1/4". He told me that, based on "what he had read online", the spine stress could be no larger than 1/8". Glad the internet has made everyone an expert grader all of a sudden. Now I am on a roll! Preach on brutha!
  20. I have 4 baby covers I really like. Deadpool #1, Superior Spider-Man #1, Spider-Man 2099 #1, and ASM #1. The rest are terrible.
  21. Tried that. All my investments went up in smoke.
  22. I just subbed one for SS and I'm expecting it to come back around an 10.6 or so. I'm expecting a pretty good return on it.
