Thor #80 has been a difficult issue to find ever since it came out. Such a small print run. I bet those sales figures are skyrocketing on GPA.
One of the first books I bought when I got back into comics, I started with the dissassembled run, think I eventually got everything on the tick list, and remember the Thor ones being a bit of a PIA to get at a decent price... Worth it though, good storylines, might go back to them... GPA should be interesting over the next few months.

Well, mine has finally gone in the post to CGC, can't wait to see what I am going to get back. Slightly worried about the amount of tape, am I likely to get a blue with a taped spine and a small taped tear on the back?
I see a few slabs that have blues and the note on the top about tape, but some talk in the resto forum got me thinking about whether or not I will get a conservation label?
What do you guys think?

Looking to buy a unrestored JIM #83: CGC 2.5-4.5 (OW or better PQ)
Please send me a PM if you have one and want to sell it.
thanks,
John (SOT)
Didn't this just happen in the ToS39 thread?
Oh, and you are all mean hoarders who should let some of your books go cheap

Did you check this one out in the For Sale forum?

a straight 1.0 is looking like this:
2014
(1) $4,200Hi
Mar-09-2014 $4,200
2013
(5) $4,199Hi $2,750Lo
Dec-08-2013 $2,750
Nov-24-2013 $4,199
Sep-29-2013 $3,107
Sep-21-2013 $3,750
Aug-17-2013 $3,550
I cant see a sale for a complete 1.0 SS since 2011, but in 2013 an incomplete SS 1.0 went for $4635...
I don't think a sig is particularly harming in these cases?

very very nice (thumbs u
Always nice to see these books

Geez, I was reading that waiting for something bad to happen and you lose your money!
So pleased it worked out for you, good to know there are some excellent sellers out there. Can we see it?

Thanks Bronze Age. The room gets very indirect light in the room. And the glass isn't conservatory museum but blocks 99% uv TruView glass. I just couldn't lock them away, I need to see them everyday!
I would not leave the books there. They will eventually fade, just not as quickly as if the glass didn't have any UV protection. All types of light will eventually lead to fading; emphasis is always on UV only because its the most damaging.
BTW some great looking books!
We see a lot of comic rooms and collections on these boards, such as the 'Have to got a comic room' thread, is it pretty much a case that everyone has their books in a room with no windows?

This thread needs a bump!
I'm back in the club! (thumbs u
That is a cracking looking book, nice one

Ah, I see the logic in that.
Timed payments then.....

So is another price rise realistic before the next avengers movie?
I would have suspected the first 3 Iron Man films and the first Avengers would have given it the limelight it needed already....
-
Found this on eBay the other night, thought it was a cool cover, FF seem to have some really cool cover, might add a few more to the old collection.
(Yes, I was reading about the Inhumans, yes, I did jump on the bandwagon, yes it is a lower grade, but it looks cool on my shelf )

That's the nicest 5.5 I've ever seen.
Who was it that had it graded at 4.5?
And a 5.5 White pager - let me know if your selling!
Thanks guys
Definitely happy with them both.
I too was surprised by both being white pages, must have been a good day at CGC.
And 1Cool, wasn't planning in selling, what are you offering?
-
So today I got these 2 back from CGC, first books I have ever submitted and very happy with the grades (via a trip to Mike at Hero Restoration - he is fantastic to deal with).
First up is Fantastic Four 48. Came back as 7.5 with White pages!
Next is one of my favorites - X-Men 4. Bought as VG+, came back as 5.5, again with WHITE PAGES!
Very, very happy right now.
And the wife asked if I was selling them yet
-
interesting stuff. I submitted through someone else too. It's not really a headache here either, more curiosity than anything!
-
guess they have gone for the cheap long delivery over the pond then. Starting to think I will have moved house by the time they get here!
recent delivery times for me have been CRAZY slow from the time they've been "shipped/safe". we're talking weeks.
Thanks for that, makes me feel better about them not getting lost...

Is it on the way in the door or on the way out?
My card was charged at the start of the month (3rd July), so am wondering if this means that my books are out to be shipped, or if thats when they are expected and I should still be waiting another good few weeks?
First time I have submitted, so just wondering...
Cheers!

Beautiful books there guys
No need to manufacture an excuse!
Interesting how the '(Tony Stark)' has been added to the label on some, and not on others. Does anyone know when this was done?
