  1. Do you know why the Avengers movie did not feature Loki using a lot of magic in it, and instead, he did a lot of hand to hand combat? Or used his "glow stick of destiny" to shoot things?

    Magic is boring.

P.S. I have only watched one Harry Potter movie, and there is a reason for that.

A movie with sword fighting and sorcery, will always feature more sword fighting than magic. Sorcery movies are ALWAYS accompanied with swords. How would that work with Dr. Strange?

    Because magic/spells/incantations/etc., are boring.

Just for fun. See if any of these tickle your fancy.

    Bed-knobs and Broomsticks is brilliant.

What you say can be said about most things though. A film with just sword fighting is boring after a while. you have to mix things up a bit.

Throw in some nasty demons and travelling around the other planes could be fun, but you have one film in an origin story, and then just throw him with the rest of the avengers .. Maybe the Illuminati (without Reed obviously)....

I think there are a few things that could be done, you don't need to just show him using magic all of the time...

Well it's not a comic room yet, but I will be hanging some of my favourite comics soon. First bit of the process, put them in frames:

These are just clip frames at the minute, I may upgrade later. Anyone ever have any problems hanging books like this? I can't see there would be any more pressure on the comics than if they were in a stack?

    Cheers

Or you could scan the books and make a copy of the covers on your printer and safely store your books in a comic box.

    But what do I know?

Amen! I can't understand using the actual comic,it's just damaging the book. (shrug)

Geez guys, I was just asking for some advice on an idea I had, what's with the sarcastic comebacks. Some of you guys can have right ***** attitude to others sometimes.

How about a sensible reply like 'That may damage the spines of the book because of the pressure of a clip frame, you could always use a scan to preserve the book itself' rather than all this 'But what do I know' and 'Amen to that' .

Hi,Yes went a few months ago. Was good fun, bit disappointed in the lack comic sellers with anything silver or golden age, mostly just bronze and modern.

Nice to see a few folks dressed up though in the spirit of things.

    Did you make it?

  5. Just out of curiosity, here’s the italian edition of #48, which uses a different color scheme (I quite like it): :)

That's really nice, great colours on it.

I can take a rough guess at the second lock of text, but what's the first one 'dottor destino'?

    Not on my US one..

[edit: No matter, google translate. Doctor Destiny - or Doctor Doom ]

  6. Got my first CGC book this week, can you hear the DoFP bandwagon rolling on by?

Just like Hotel California, you can check out any time you like but you can never leave (CGC collecting).

The best thing I showed my Mrs and the first thing she said was 'They could have put it in straight...'.

    And she is right!

Even though I'm not an early FF collector, I have tremendous respect for those early years. I'd rather have a nice solid #4 like this than to have a #1.

    Agreed, I love FF #4.

Thats just beautiful. Thing is wearing booties lol

Marvel do have some cracking number 4s. Very excited to know my x-men 4 is due to arrive from the States in the next week or so :cloud9:
