  1. All the booksellers I talk to say that business is way up and the biggest problem can be finding material to sell. From what they tell me, there are a lot of younger people collecting some of these books due to the salacious and, by current standards, completely inappropriate cover art and language. You don't have to search very hard online to find tons of t-shirts, coffee mugs, and poster reproductions of classic paperback covers. I'm obviously biased because I love paperback books. But it feels like the next logical stage for a collector of comics to evolve to books and magazines. It makes me happy to share these cool books I've found with others that appreciate the same stuff. In a lot of ways, that's one of the reasons I enjoyed comics for so long- the camaraderie with other collectors. And I've been blessed to have a number of knowledgeable collectors share the wisdom with me. So, I try to pass on what I've found and pay it forward. I watch a lot of auctions on eBay and the number of bidders is definitely going up all the time. I've sold a lot of comics to fund magazines and books. And I'll probably sell a lot more. As always, my recommendation is to buy what you enjoy. I love looking at my shelves and seeing all the different titles, pulling them down and looking at the covers by master illustrators- truly amazing talents that make comic art seem a little raw by comparison. It's a lot more fun than buying slabs. The thrill of discovery and exploration is real.
  2. You got some Bill Ward and Gene Bilbrew mixed in there as well. I think one of them may be Stanton. Paging @Surfing Alien
  3. Well, I should have looked before I posted. I'm getting old and got my copy of Orgy of the Dead mixed up with my copy of Queen of Blood. It's Queen of Blood that's signed by Bonfils, Neutzel, Ackerman, and I think that's Ed Wood Jr., but I could be wrong. Here's photos.
  4. I'll find it and take a couple pics. I purchased it with those signatures and didn't get any information on where they were acquired, unfortunately.
  5. Big book, James! I have a copy of this signed by Ackerman, Wood, and Bonfils. Very cool!
  6. Guys, I have a whole other stack of stuff to list but it's going to have to wait until next weekend (this week's going to be busy with work). I'll leave this thread open until the end of the day today. Feel free to PM with any questions or reasonable offers. Thanks to everyone that looked, purchased, and/or shared some knowledge on these bad boys. You're all the best!
  7. Fantastic Magazine Vol. 1, No. 1. FN- 5.5. Beautiful book but it has a crack at the spine that goes through the entire book. Still glossy and bright. Classic cover by Barye Phillips. $40 Sold to goldust40
  8. Venus Books 123. Gaddis, Peggy. Emotions of Fire. VG 4.0. Solid copy with general wear associated with the grade. One of my favorites, another “fridge magnet” cover. Artwork by Rudy Nappi (one of his best). $50 Sold to goldust40
  9. Quarter Books 74. Harvey, Gene. “Leg-Art” Virgin. FN- 5.5. Very nice, glossy copy with a little back cover creasing, minor edge and surface wear. Whites are white and colors are bright. Classic cover by George Gross. $70 Sold to mstrange
  10. Oh wow. Thanks, SA! Someone online attributed it to Duillo and I just ran with it. Thanks for the clarification!
  11. Phantom Books 504. Keene, Day. Love Me- And Die!. FN- 5.5. A solid copy with general spine, surface, and edge wear. This is the Australian issue of this title (most of the Phantom run was Australian). Very cool cover by the man, George Gross. Ridiculously difficult title to find. $125
  12. Venus Books 117. Harvey, Gene. Desire Is A Woman. VG/F 5.0. Nice clean copy but has a crack along the spine (common for these digests) and a bit of general edge wear. Excellent cover by Howell Dodd. $30 Sold to OtherEric
  13. Monarch MM604. Owen, Dean. Konga. FN/VF 7.0. Nice copy with general wear to be expected for the grade. No major issues. Love this cover by John Duillo. Tough book in any shape. $80 Sold to mstrange
  14. Monarch MB550. Gordon, Gary. Sex In Business. VF+ 8.5 (unread). Nice fresh looking book with only a few minor corner flecks, otherwise very nice. Evocative photo cover featuring a pair of legs. $20 Sold to TheComicsPreacher
  15. Monarch MB519. Ohara, Ralph C., M.D.. The Divorcee. FN- 5.5. Presentable book, only major issue is there's a strange, subtle bend in the book along the spine, doesn't break color. Cover art by Robert Maguire. $10 Sold to goldust40

  17. Monarch 426. Flora, Fletcher. Most Likely To Love. FN 6.0. Another beautiful book structurally but has residue at the top of the front cover from a price sticker and some general surface wear. Gorgeous cover by Rafael DeSoto. $20 Sold to goldust40
  18. Monarch 378. Friedman, Stuart. The Revolt of Jill Braddock. FN/VF 7.0. One of those very pretty copies that looks practically new but has an impact at the center of the spine on the front cover. Exceptionally well rendered cover by Harry Barton. $20 Sold to mstrange
  19. Monarch 364. Brewer, Gil. Wild To Possess. VF- 7.5. I'm probably being a little hard on this copy. It's structurally pretty nice but just has some surface wear on front and back covers. Probably in my top 10 favorite covers, this is by the incredible Robert Maguire and it's one of his best (all of his women are beautiful but this one has a certain je ne c'est quoi). Something about the graphic design of the title and author in relation to the artwork that just works. And by God, she has a gun! $35 Sold to goldust40
