Simple - you pay more. Stan’s handlers (i.e. Max) would’ve let Stan sign and sketch anything just as long as the customer paid accordingly.
10 signatures on one book? Each a different color? Sure! That’ll be 2 grand. And you have to provide the sharpies.
I remember waiting in line to meet Stan Lee once and Max annouced that Stan would sign anything you wanted but you had to pay the cost of one addition signature per word.
So Stan Lee plus Excelsior would cost 2 signatures. If he was charging $100 per sig, that’s $200. Waste of money in my opinion but people were paying for the extra words!

I attended a Comic Con panel where a fan asked Stan Lee what his worst creation was and he answered the Fantastic Four villain “Diablo.” He further eleberated that he couldn’t even remember what Diablo’s super villain powers were and he created him!

Sad news. He was a very underrated writer in my opinion and I always enjoyed reading his work.

I believe it’s because Mary Jane was “mentioned” in ASM15 and then had another cameo where her face wasn’t shown in another early issue, so by this point you pretty much have to say “first full appearance” with her appearing in 2 panels. Otherwise it’s her 2nd cameo appearance?

He signed the book I bought off you in block letters.

Thanks for sharing your story! Personally I like his block lettering signature better and hope he only signs in cursive upon request.

I was browsing through EBay yesterday and came across a comic that was signed by Larry Lieber this past April at East Coast Comic Con according to the CGC label that looked a lot different from previous signatures I’ve gotten from him. His old signature was block lettering and now it’s in cursive?
I’m wondering if anyone else has gotten a recent signature from Larry and if so has it changed to cursive?

are there any good protectors we can put on slabs?
The slab is the protector. Putting a protector to protect the procector seems silly.

Even though he hasn’t been announced yet this year, Joe attended Rhode Island Comic Con the last 2 years.

Noob question, but where would I go to check if I have Ebay bucks?

In my opinion, along with Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko was one of the greatest comic book artists of all time. Sad news...

I had this same thing happen to me once about a year ago. It was obviously my picture because all of my listings had the same background, which was not the case for this other seller.
I called Ebay and they contacted the other seller to remove the picture. It took a couple days if I remember correctly which was frustrating because it effected my sale of the same comic book.

Thanks for creating this thread, I enjoyed reviewing these statistics!

With the exception of Max, aren’t the rest of these d-bags who have been leaching onto Stan Lee over the past year friends of JC?

Wow nice find, I wish this was a CGC SS opp!

Would you have salvaged it had it been an AF15?
It was issue 65 and I actually still finished reading it, except for those two pages and sent it in to CGC for grading since I wasn’t planning on reading it ever again. Came back mid-grade 5.5 if I remember correctly.

I found dried up bloody boogers in a copy of Marvel Team-Up. The thought of a booger from the 1970s gluing a couple of pages together made me feel sick to my stomach...

Thanks eee91 for the updated list!
Will anyone be facilitating for Terrificon? Holy cow that comic guest list is insane:

I just saved $75 on a comic, yay!

Thank you for sharing this coupon! I just saved $30 on a comic book.

4/13: Stan Lee sues Jerry Olivarez
4/24: Stan Lee is sued and accused of sexual misconduct
https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-stan-lee-lawsuit-20180423-story,amp.html
Is it just me or is this an obvious smear campaign by Jerry Olivarez to take the focus off of him? Seems like he orchestrated a counter-sue likely using bribery to get this masseuse to sue. The timing of this and the sexual misconduct story just don’t seem believable to me.

Not only are 57LesPaulGoldTop’s signatures obviously fake, but so is his feedback on EBay! Even though he has 100% positive feedback, most of it is from the same buyer, who probably is him on an alternate account.
