I never understood how ASM 135 was labeled as The Punisher's "second appearance" by CGC when he has a full page clearly dedicated to him in ASM 134.

Picked this up at Soda City Con in Columbia, SC this past weekend. Low grade but I'm happy to add it to my collection.
Nice book, I would have bought it too!
Not only is this book the forgotten key, but with no posts since 2013 it is also the forgotten thread! Nice job of resurrecting it.
Thanks! I've avoided the Marvel westerns until now but I couldn't resist this key. Looking through the issue, it reads exactly like any origin issue of any Lee/Kirby super-hero book but in a western setting.
For you guys that collect westerns, how do Rawhide Kid and Kid Colt Outlaw compare to Two-Gun? Did Lee/Kirby also do any of those or were they mostly drawn by Ayers and company?
I agree 100% with you that this story reads just like a Marvel Superhero book. That's why Two-Gun Kid is my favorite western hero. Even after his origin story, the sequential books have 'villains' and a hero who is juggling his superhero identity along with his romantic life.
Rawhide Kid and Kid Colt don't read the same in my opinion. Kid Colt faces a few cool villains (Most notably Iron Mask) and Rawhide Kid is more of a true western comic. Neither have that "superhero feel" to them.

Sorry to high jack this thread, does Stan Lee personalize or write Excelsior or does he charge extra for that as well? Lastly, will he sign with something other than sharpie if you give it to him to use on your items?
He charges extra to write "Excelsior!"
Also he usually has a variety of different color sharpies on hand. From experience, his signature looks best in black...
How much extra?
How about personalization?
He used to charge 1 signature fee per each extra word. So if his signature is $100, it would cost you $200 to have his signature and the word "Excelsior!"

That's not a presentable looking 4.0 in my opinion....Personally, that's why I buy the book, not the grade.

If you love Spider-Man, a good book to start with before chasing the mega keys would be ASM50. It's a key book, classic cover, but won't break the bank.

Thank you for the articles.

It was a roller Blading accident in the early 90's. His brother is indeed responsible for his care. It has never been definite but the assumption is he does not have the ability to sign his name any longer
I knew that Bill Mantlo is in the care of his brother due to an accident, but I didn't realize the severity of his accident may have left him unable to sign.
Has anyone tried to reach out for a private signing with him at any point?

Looks real to me... He usually signed in pen from what I've seen, but I've also seen some like these.

I'm excited to have purchased this beauty from Phillip last week!
She's a low grade that is hanging on for dear life at the top staple, but presents much higher.
Nice! Great cover!
Thank you! This was a tough book to find.
I know. Try putting together the 27 issue set.
That's dedication! I'm happy with my #1 and #27
