  1. Looks like Kirby ripped off King Kong for this book's inspiration. I love it!
  2. Wow those high grade books are nice... I only have a couple of Pre-hero books:
  3. And I just saw this and will fix it now. The list was exhaustive and I can't imagine how cloudofwhit kept up with it! That's why I like the first post. Easy to keep track. Harvey, you're awesome!
  4. That's a sweet trifecta picture!
  5. Feedback is always appreciated! Thanks, Brian
  6. Love it! TGK is my personal favorite out of all of the Marvel Western heroes
  7. That's a beautiful cover, trmoore54! Very rich colors on white pages. I wish my copy was that purdy
  8. Speaking of FF 64-67: I really enjoyed reading these 4 issues. They are among the best that FF has to offer and that really is saying something...
  9. My ST collection is relatively small. Only 3 issues at this time:
  10. The CGC labels show SW1 as 12/58, while ToS1 and TtA1 are 1/59? Those are the cover dates, which told the seller when to pull the book for return. The 3 comics hit the stands the same month, as I understand it. All released Sept. 2nd, 1958. Very interesting.

  12. Agreed! I just read Phampton's post today. Excellent points. In my opinion, the only book that predates RK17 in importance to Marvel's SA history is "Strange Worlds #1," which is the first book that Stan Lee & Jack Kirby worked on together. It also featured the work of Ditko. It marked Jack Kirby's return to Marvel and started a 2 year run of SciFi, Monster, Western, & Teen Romance comics that were the precursor to the Superhero SA books.
  13. One of my favourites! Beautiful rich colors on your book, nice find! Many #45s out on the market tend to have faded, so this one is a keeper for sure.
  14. I wouldn't call 230 books a "small collection." Sounds like you've still got a lot of cool ones in that bunch!
  15. each book a I've got each of those books except for the WW98, but your copies are in MUCH nicer shape! Very cool
  16. That TGK 49 is one of the best Severin comics ever made. It contains 4 (!!!) Severin stories if I'm not mistaken. When I sold off my Atlas collection awhile back, that was the one and only book that I sent out of my way to buy back because I had such a bad case of seller's remorse with it. I don't have anywhere NEAR the amount of Atlas westerns I had before, but that was one that was a keeper every day of the week. Looks like they updated Kid Colt's clothes. Was a new artist introduced for Issue 60 vs 49?
  17. Time to join the TOS39 Club! I'm curious, since you guys are experts on comics, do you know what may have caused the fading at the bottom of my book? The yellowish faded area in the red box is what I'm referring to. It was that way when I bought it, so I've been curious ever since.
