When i talked to Dave last early 1980's he just got a Tec 27 same week as i got mine but said it was not the church. He never told me he had a copy of Batman 1 all the times we talked and he was buying stuff at the time and i had 3 copy's at the time to sell. Does he have the church Bat 1. Did you just double checked this with Dave hinself? I remember being down at the Diamond Int'l Galleries big grand opening back on Super Day of '95 and if I remember correctly, he told me that he was the buyer of Overstreet's copy of Batman 1. That copy there was listed as a VF/NM copy and priced and sold for something like $60K at the time. With Dave, I guess it's always possible that he might have more than one copy of Bat 1, or more likely, he probably upgraded to the Church copy when it came available. It's been 35 years since i talked to him by phone I sold him book's but can not remember what I do remember he paid 3 times guide for the Action 1 or 3 times what it was worth at the time. I was a 19 year old kid with 3 Bat 1's 5 Fantasy 15's 2 Sup 1's All the timely 1s few times over ( not Marvel 1 tho) I even had Fantastic 3 and Red Raven 1 Samson 1-2-3- FF 1's every place now NOW LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID @lou_fine I feel like Alan Harper

There was a 9.0 Link copy years ago that i think got resub to 9.4 EDIT The 9.0 got up to a 9.2 NOT 9.4 so ya its the best like Elvis

These are some good points. Do you feel that the majority of new Action #1 and Tec #27 owners are in their 20s and 30s? Back in 1977 my boss became a millionaire and it was a huge deal for weeks. My dad bought a house in Daily city SF for 18k in 1975 top of the hill mission area. My dad than bought a house in Petaluma ca for 43k 4 bedroom in 1977. 1981 bought a house for 90k I could buy a copy of Action 1 in 1.5 for 2500. I bought my first copy of Tec 27 for 1300 so everything was cheap back than. 2007 i put my Restored ( VG/F - ) Tec 27 on ebay 25k reserve only got to 17k everyone wanted to know if it was a VG/F-. I went and drove 6 hours to PGX to have it graded ( since it was Restored it was a cheap way to have book graded that i wanted to sell They did not have a bad wrap at that time ) it only got a 4.5 and the house i wanted had sold so i kept the book. Now i hear that it might be a 300k book I am to old to enjoy 300k so i die and my kid will sell for a dime Ya some books i want like Sup 1 I cant get unless i sell this book EDIT I could buy a Sup 1 i just wont pay 90k for a restored book that i could have got for 20k and under 20 years ago.

Action 1 has a slight lead but Tec 27 is a better book
