  1. This is my one win from the auction. Asking with a joke about the threads from people concerned that their comics are listed on some auction site. On a separate note, the stuff I had for sale at auction did decidedly meh.
  2. Hmm, just random ideas: collectors curate collectors selectively expand a collection collectors often seek out like-minded collectors collectors grow their knowledge about a topic
  3. I think if you're buddy got $100 for the pair, that'd be quite good. These aren't comics war collectors are seeking out.
  4. I buy some westerns now and then. They’re affordable, and there’s some good cover work from some quality artists.
  5. Ah, nice! I might have grabbed that one. That ped is not far from where I live. I have my eye on a Capt Marvel from that ped.
  6. Maybe I need to go watch a few more listings and see what happens....
  7. https://www.cbr.com/january-2019-comic-sales-analysis-marvel-dc/ https://cosmicbook.news/disney-shutting-down-marvel-comics More news item (the second speculative) on the topic.
  8. I'm done with Marvel Silver Age, and pretty much Bronze, too. I own less than ten comics from the era after unloading what I did have. The crazy prices are just so unappealing. I know someone who's a much more serious collector (and bigger spender) than I, and he's unloaded a lot and isn't buying because of the runaway prices. That said, I might be taking a bath on a few books at CLink auction right now. C'mon, irrational buyers, buy my books!
  9. Well, I disagree with you people, and I also disagree with CGC. Considering the fourth picture I posted, I can't see the grade this high. But you folks, man, are harsh. I bought this as a 9.0, which I think is a fair grade.
  10. Ugh that startling terror tales is so pretty, and an attractive price. I think you missed the Heck book on page 35?
  11. I've enjoyed the series. I had picked up #1 but then fallen off with it. My lcs had reprints of several issues, so I picked those up, bought #4 off ebay, and now I'm getting current. It's enjoyable, and Ross's covers have been terrific. And I'm usually not crazy for his style, but these (and his upcoming Detective 1000 variant) are pretty slick.
