  1. You got it. I just added a few more pics. I referenced them in the post, and them added them in, so lmk if that changes anything.
  2. RULES! These are the usual rules. What are the usual rules? They are what I say they are. And they are exceedingly usual. More specifically: REFERENCESKudos threadebay ID - brother17 ACCEPTED PAYMENT Paypal only. Payment expected within 3 calendar days of invoice. 3. Hit me up for some Sienkiewicz. Love his stuff.
  4. Inside a box lid. I like this and will play around with it more. (Yes, I'm telling only on tension to hold that slab in place. This technique is not for the feint at heart.)
  5. I have a daylight lamp that I use. I took cooking wax paper and taped it over the light to diffuse it. Works reasonably well.
  6. I will pay a premium for raw comics that are actually in the grade described, but I won’t pay slabbed prices. I see people, and many dealers, who seem to think slabbed prices are the new guide price. I disagree with that, but will pay a markup even for newer books, like copper age, that are truly in high grade. So many common books are sold overgraded in abundance. When I find someone like paperheart or Ghost Town who actually deliver on the grades, I will pay more for their stuff.
  7. Dunk those little people_without_enough_empathy in turpentine. That’ll straighten things out.
  8. This from someone who earlier in the thread used the phrase “U mad bro...?” But it’s great fodder for r/iamverysmart.
  9. RMA seems to confuse my posts about him as posts to him.
  10. He is also prickly and doesn't take criticism well, but what's new there?
  11. Dissemble, not disassemble. RMA confuses his own interpretation with rational conclusion. He's a logic chopper, not a debater.
  12. I find the first use of "newton rings" on the boards by Ditch Farenheit here in bigstthread Big change at CGC, from September of 2014. Ditch references this thread from February 2014, titled "Moisture in CGC Case. Have we really lived with these for four years? Is it reasonable to think that after four years and how many case iterations that we will see this actually addressed?
  13. I prefer books that l keep in my permanent collection to be in mylar. Higher value books, often pedigree books, and books that I have less interest in keeping long-term, I leave slabbed. Besides, the case was already cracked.
  14. That re-introduces a liability they surely had in mind prior to these particular slab kits, doesn't it? Tampering with ill intent.
  15. Positive transaction all around with Rick. Neat Stuff indeed.
  16. Won this on ebay, after missing out on a copy in a similar grade in the last CLink auction, and cracked it out just now. Colors look terrific for a 6.0.
  17. Free shipping through Sunday midnight when you spend $50 or more. I tried to make prices attractive, and here's a pro tip: any buy-it-now with a make an offer, which is all of them, is set to accept offers at a certain threshold. You'll find some good bargains there, I think.
  18. Photos by Mike Zeck from the 1971 Comic Art Convention: https://dangearino.com/2017/11/12/mike-zeck-photographer-and-historian/ Here is Zeck cosplaying as Black Bolt.
  19. Thanks for pursuing this topic and handling it so cordially with the CGC folks. I do hope that we hear something. I am sitting on a submission because of this and the shipping changes. I surmise that many collectors who purchased CGC-slabbed collectibles have unvoiced complaints about this, so I hope this thread is not dismissed as the grumblings of a small number of forum-goers who don't represent the broader CGC audience.
  20. Great read on this sort of topic: https://dangearino.com/2017/03/31/82/
  21. I live in the Southeastern US. Your observation gives me pause when I consider humid air forming inside the case, with no current to pull it out.
  22. Fascinating stuff. We'll never see that era duplicated, which in some ways is likely for the best.
