I purchased WD1-100 first prints and the Retailer Appreciation variant back in October for 3k. In your guys opinion was this a good price or did I over pay. Each issue is 9.4 or better.

has it been confirmed or debunked yet that #2 1st and 2nd printings can be distinguished by the white corner in the bottom left of the cover? All my 1st prints have it. 2nd prints do not, which i guess would mean 2nd prints would also be shorter. Anyone else chime in on this !?
Post some crisp clean photos of what your talking about. Thanks!!!
first photo is of a 1st print #2
next is of a 2nd print #2
this is the white corner im speaking of. Wanted to see if this holds up with other copies
Mine are the same, first print has the corner second print does not.

Good to know that he wasn't purposefully deceiving anyone. Or maybe he was trying to save face once he figured he was caught
I would say saving face. He knows better he is a dealer.

It's a shame that people destroy third prints to create fake firsts, such a waste.

This Ebay posting ended last Friday. It was ended by the seller because there was "an error" in the listing. Error my @$$ that is clearly not a first print.

Strongguy's observation was spot on. I don't want to beat a dead horse but here are some close ups of my 1st, 2nd and 3rd prints just to reinforce his findings.
First Print
Second Print; With "line", or whatever you call it.
Third Print; More pink than red. Also the buildings appear to be filled in a lot more.
I have noticed that the blood on the "S" in "Turtles" also differs each printing. As far as size per issue, from largest to smallest was 2nd, 1st, 3rd.
Here are some shots of my 3rd print on top of my 1st print.
I would have done one shot but I couldn't get the angles right to see both the length and width differences.

I know the last time I saw Peter Laird, he had TMNT vol. 1 #4 2nd print printers proofs. I grabbed one and the picture looks SO much better w/o it wrapping a comic book. I personally think the 2nd print covers for Vol. 1 #'s 4, 6, and 7 are almost better than the 1st prints.... I will now slap myself for Blaspheming
I completely agree! Raphael one-shot, 7 and 18 second prints are my favorite covers.

After reading this thread I decided to check out "when the Walking Dead bubble will burst". Seriously? 239 pages of "comic book theory", they are just angry that either they dropped the ball in '03 or aren't able to afford back issues. It is quite entertaining.
