  1. Bout to go to a swap meet soon. Hope I can pick up at least a few comics like you lucky gents always do.

Be sure to pick one or two derks for the *cough* comic gods ;) . Wishing you all the luck!! (thumbs u

Luck Lady, please sent your luck to spideyfan78ct! :foryou:

Well… No dice guys. There was only one vender with comics at all. He had 3 long boxes filled with the typical 90's stuff, Cable, Wolvie, Gen 13, etc.

Closest thing to valuable was a Hulk #270 and an Alpha Flight #16 (Vol. 2)

Would've been nice to walk away with Rocket and Big Hero 6 appearance but, oh well, next weekend is a larger flea market :)

  2.

For 4, I like how CGC does it. If the character appears first without costume, it's first appearance of the character's real name. Then if the character appears in costume, it's first appearance of character's real name as (superhero).

However, if the costume appears first without revealing the identity it's 1st Superhero. Then if the character appears without the costume it's 1st real name.

Market-wise in most cases, it's whichever is printed 1st is worth the most money.

Except War Machine, Ant Man, Venom, and even Cable all appeared in costume 2nd and those are the money books right?

  3. For some people, they buy these books early on to sell them off for profit.

For me, its more like "figure out which books will be hot and buy them now before they will be out of your price range."

I picked up my fine looking Inhumans #1 for a few bucks earlier this week, now I can relax and read :cloud9:

lol the struggle of being a new collector in college.

  4. Serious question, do you think it would be worthwhile for me to hold onto VF copies of Howard #1 and Marvel Premiere #47?

I'm not too attached to either character and both books I bought pretty cheap, so I'd be able to save some cash for a bigger book like IM #55 or something to that extent.

I don't know, man. 6 months ago Id have told you to dump those two, but after seeing what Disney did with GOTG I wouldnt sell those books short. I saw GOTG yesterday. It exceeded all my expectations.

Yeah it's seriously a tough decision, but there's no way Howard is going to last like this unless a movie or some sort of series is made featuring him right?

  5. Got some high grade #1's and first appearances… Today is a good day. #57 is pretty beat, but it was a cheap first copy so I'm not complaining.

I wanted to acquire some Warlock issues too. I need to figure out what other key issues to get.

  6. Apparently our very own Wonder Woman is going to be some-what Kryptonian…

"Batman–on-Film, a site with some pretty strong inside sources, believes that the version of Wonder Woman played by Gal Gadot in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman will be a descendant of the ancient Kryptonians who attempted to set up an outpost on earth thousands of years before the events of Man of Steel.

When asked how big a role we might expect Wonder Woman to play in Batman vs. Superman, BOF proprietor Jett Ramey responded, “Personally, I’d say it’ll be about on par with Scarlett Johansson’s first appearance as Black Widow in IRON MAN 2. I believe that it’s a cameo-plus type of role that will (hopefully) serve as a springboard to a solo Wonder Woman movie.”

  7. Is there any chance we're going to get Amell's Arrow in this current DC Movieverse? Which looks to be headed towards JLA.

A few pages back, an interview was posted. He'd like the movies and the show closely aligned.

    :wishluck:

I believe I remember seeing that interview when browsing through the Tube. Thanks for helping me remember that bit! I also heard that he teased the idea on one of his social networks by posting a picture of the JLA if I remember correctly?

Regardless, I hope DC decides to go this route. It would be fantastic to see a complete universe that Marvel can never pull off.

The only question mark for me is the young guy playing Barry Allen. He's getting his own TV show though so I guess they must have a lot of faith in him.

Catch up - Marvel have already created a big screen/small screen complete universe.

You mean that POS show Agents of Shield? If that is the best they can do as of now, then I tremendously applaud them. :jokealert: However, I know that they have multiple Netflix series in line for various heroes which I'm pretty excited about.

My comment towards Marvel was more in regards to the fact that their actual universe is split between several studios as opposed to DC, where they have complete control.

  9. I think HusTruck has been raised in a very self-entitled environment. There have been a number of red flags that have proven to me that he doesn't have a great deal of courtesy towards others.

I remember vividly he was trying to claim ownership over a Hulk 181 that I know for a fact somebody else already called dibs on.

He tends not to evaluate his own goods and price them accordingly. Most of the time he just sees what another item sold for here on the boards and matches that exactly. I guess that's understandable as we all price our goods based off of some form of successful tools though.

He's kind of in his own little world. I'm not trying to bash him, but I think he really needs to understand his errors, he will benefit greatly in the long run.
