  1. Picked up an Avengers book I was looking for from Ed! The transaction was fantastic to say the least. Book was at my door within 2 days with extremely sturdy shipping method!

Hope to buy from you soon again!

    Thanks,

    Chris!

You have gotta be absolutely ting me right? Never in my time have I seen a price jump as quickly. Few days ago it was a $50 book max. It's SIX times as pricey now.

Not even Avengers 55 jumped that quick. Hell, FF 45 is more important too. What's the last book to make this jump? MP7? IM55?

    lol I'd rather spend $300 on a GL 76 or ASM 300.

  3. I really could not think of a better choice for Shazam than Channing Tatum to be honest. His role in the Jump Street movies is pure fun.

Chris Pratt could've been interesting since he seems like a little kid at heart too.

I can see Channing Tatum pulling off the boyish part of Captain Marvel. But isn't he locked into that Gambit role Fox announced a while back?

That's the catch ain't it. I wasn't sure whether or not it was official. I think most fans would rather see him as a different character. He's got a great personality to do a superhero character justice, I just don't see him pulling off Gambit as well as another actor could.

  4. A few thoughts.

The Rock was honestly pretty awesome in The Rundown. There was great chemistry between him, Scott, and Chris Walken.

If there was one superhero movie where he could succeed, I feel like it would be Shazam, where he's playing a kid at heart with all the cheesy goodness.

No way he pulls off Black Adam. We all saw his villainous potential as Scorpion King in the Mummy Returns…

  5. What the....

Joaquin Phoenix Now Said To Be In "Final Talks" To Play DOCTOR STRANGE

    ------------------

According to Collider, he should sign the contract with the studio any day now and the reason it's taken so long (reports of him boarding the Scott Derrickson helmed project surfaced over a month ago) is because of his desire to have the freedom to continue starring in movies outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with filmmakers like Paul Thomas Anderson and Spike Jonze (his roles in The Master and Her earned him serious awards attention).

    ------------------

I guess the other candidates were bargaining chips and backups if he pushed it too hard, or decided to pull out.

It's really not too much for him to ask either. He has so much talent and just because Marvel/Disney is family oriented, that shouldn't stop him from being able to do more mature themed films.

  6. If Disney was smart they would throw a truck load of money at Daniel Day-Lewis to play Dr. Strange. That man can play anything and will most likely be the first actor since Heath Ledger to win an acting Oscar for his role in a superhero film.

    Seconded!

I'd love it too. Just can't see DDL sticking around for multiple films. Disney would want Strange to be a top tier character and DDL wouldn't want to be tied down to 3-4 films, even if they are quality ones at that.

  7. Wow Adventure into Fear is falling back down to earth rapidly. Books barely hitting the $30-50 mark now.

To be fair, the odds of a Howard the Duck movie getting made are pretty poor. Additionally, that character is definitely a product of his time and despite several attempts over the year, Marvel has never been able to make the character work outside the original title's run. (Are there comic creators clamoring to usher Howard into the modern Marvel universe?) I also don't see Disney green-lighting a movie with the character as it's been a source of contention between Disney and Marvel due to the similarities with Donald Duck. The critical comparisons that would be drawn from a Disney produced Howard the Duck movie would be interesting to see however. lol

So, now that we've been told there is no Nova movie perspectives in the works, has Nova 1 started coming back down to earth?

Yeah, I thought it was well known that this was just a fun little easter egg that Gunn threw in. Don't get me wrong, I think him doing that did spark a renewed interest in the character. Hell even I picked up a copy of HtD #1 b/c of it.

I didn't hear that about Nova! I'm pretty bummed. He would be great on the big screen. :/ Guess I'm in luck though considered I still haven't picked up my copy haha.

Mid grade raw sales are only indicative of the mid grade raw market.

I was never disputing this. lol.

  8. Not sure if this exactly fits here, but I need to rant somewhere. I ordered 2 books from this particular seller on CPG. The total came out to $6, plus $6.99 for shipping… A little steep, but if the books are packaged securely I can live with it.

I even tried to make sure the books would be shipped safely and she claimed they would, she mentioned that she could try and package it in a box, but looking back now she probably would've just thrown them into the box loose to move around in.

Package arrives today and my suspicion becomes reality. The bend goes through the entire package and the backing boards are bent too. I'm so sick of buying online. I thought CPG would be better than ebay. :pull hair:

I've usually been pretty safe with sellers, but what do you think I should do? Is my frustration warranted?

She used a thin- Coke box as a sandwich? doh!

I know this was purchased through CPG, but most Amazon comic book sellers (and still a lot of eBay sellers) need to take a class in how to package comics properly.

Friggin insane right? I told her specifically to package it well and then I get a coke box package… I try and link a video or thread on how to package books every time now

  9. Well I've never had it happen so I think it's rare.

Did she write do not bend on it?

No she didn't, but I doubt that would make a difference. I package my books that I sell so carefully that they'd never be able to bend it.

I'll see what the seller says. The money isn't even that important, just really disappointed with people trying to save a few dollars and ruining great books in the process.
