Hey its working ! eBay has taken action and the overpriced moderns advertised at the top of the page are coming down in price ! ... of course it's still puredrek that i can't imagine anyone would be interested in at any price.......

I wish the eBay ads above would mix it up and advertise the occasional, good old fashioned affordable mid-grade GA comic that actually has some collector appeal and value. 
Instead of the constant puredrek they show that assaults ones senses!

I read one article said FBI estimates 80% of sports memorabilia fake.  Another one said there really is no accurate authentication agency-that they don't exist.

I've never seen anyone else do it-I think that's why people find it so fascinating-that guy is reading old comics!

No I read SA and some GA original books.  They are not 9.6 or anything so I'm not worried about it.  Also they are not ASM 3 or anything.  Like $5-$15 books.  And most of the interested people are older.  It's fun explaining things to them they never knew about comic collecting.  It amazes them that condition is so important I have told them a book can be $5 or $1000 depending on condition.  I also try to keep the books out of their hands because they have no idea how to handle a comic.

I do a lot of comic reading at coffee shop and people are invariably interested and start asking questions or telling about books they owned.  I've even bought collections this way.  No interest at all if you read modern books but if someone sees SA or GA books they inevitably get sucked in.  

I'll agree, most COA's are worth not only less than the paper they're printed on, and comes with the same stigma that a villainous criminal telling you "Don't worry, trust me." when it comes to COA's not from authorized sellers (like when Michael Golden or J. Scott Campbell issue them, themselves) or licensed dealers in the business of selling autographs.
I recently had PSA authenticate what I thought was a legitimate Evander Holyfield autographed 8" x 10" and I'd purchased it almost 20 years ago at a what seemed to be legitimate sports auction that came with a COA, and it got the "FAKE" judgement, so I've shyed away from being enamored by autographs that I don't get in-person myself.

It doesn't really matter if they are real or not.  An unwitnessed sig is 'name written on cover'.  A COA is generally a bad sign.
