Magic Erasers are actually made of melamine foam, which has been used for decades as an insulation and soundproofing material. About 10 years ago, some smarty-pants discovered that melamine foam was also an effective abrasive cleaner! It works because when melamine resin cures into foam, its microstructure becomes almost as hard as glass — causing it to act like a SUPER-fine sandpaper on stains. The abrasive foam loosens up dirt and grime, and the open microstructure of the foam sucks it in and traps it there.

Usually stores have them stacked 3-4 high. Makes pulling them out more difficult. Usually they start on the floor. Have to pull each one out individually and you can't pull it out the whole way obviously to see the stuff in the back. Then you have to hold the box with one hand, which limits browsing ability, while you're bent over. Just not a good system for retailers.

Yes, it was selling for $100 pre-sale / release. But, of course that's not what a retailer pays for it. The Spider-Man cover has been selling for more and it's not out yet.
