  3. Lot of discussion on this post over on the Book. Pretty sure this is a boardie and respected member of the community. Adam Hughes 17 hrs · For all those folks that think the $1,000 commission sketches are way too expensive... here's one that Adam did at a recent convention already being resold for three times that amount. http://www.comicartfans.com/ForSaleDetails.asp?ArtId=573898 When I have to raise our prices to drive out the flippers, remember that things like this is why.
  4. He enjoys having a reason to dress up...even when it's not Halloween.
  5. Definition of First-to-Market Batman: Red Death (Metal) Foil Variant sold for $300
  6. No, the very last image looks like a bag that was signed by Liefeld and has a sticker with a stamp on it as some type of COA. edit: hmm, looks like they removed it from the listing. There were four pictures when I looked at it.
  7. What's that last image of on the listing?
  8. Were they really "thought to be lost forever" though or does that just make for a good pump?
  9. Not if you want them done properly. You want to put them between two pillows.
  10. I'm lost... What risk does someone selling a sports bet assume? Their customer won't come back? Big deal, they got them once or twice and made their money.
  11. I'll buy that for older books, where lower grade is more prevelant. No way I'm buying people buy 8.0 Coppers and Moderns because they are slabbed. There are too many copies of most of these books in high grade.
  12. I'm not talking about those creating the line, I'm talking about all of the commercials and emails for people that will sell you their picks.
  13. Why would you get an 8.0 signed to slab and sell? I think we can all agree that's not a good decision, let alone thinking of even getting an 8.0 slabbed. It will sell higher raw and be less work.
  14. So you're saying you would be betting on an uncertain outcome. Just like my handicapper analogy that you dismissed?
  15. New Mutants #98 9.8 $750 9.8 SS $1,100 I don't think the price difference has anything to do with the fact that it's "preserved".
  16. That's like asking why the sports "handicappers" don't just play their own picks and rake in the money.
  17. In what manner? This was printed after the initial red covers, so it is a second print.
  18. First print is what's indicated. But the cover variantion is also incorrect.
  19. Someone makes an account to resurrect a 6 year old thread?!
  20. I see multiple references above to the "advertising" clause as the reason not to use Media Mail. However, comic books have specifically not been allowed to be shipped Media for a while via the USPS website. 2nd paragraph, second sentence: https://about.usps.com/notices/not121/not121_tech.htm
