  1. Takes time look how long it took for actual Outcast news. It was optioned before the book was released and has moved incredibly fast. Preacher on the other hand took forever. That was because of a guy named Kirkham. I suppose, never heard of him.
  2. Are you the CBSI GUY? Tron pump and dump Man these guys buy this stuff up then pump it ! Any one following these guys are C H U M P S ! Its not pump and dump. Its pump and chump.... Anyone with a brain knows those books have been bought by mostly BY PUMPERS before the hyped up web post. I mean this is getting desperate. Amen brotha !! I've asked this before and I think I got a response from you as to something like "you can tell the pump & dumpers". How are you supposed to talk about comics you like and not be considered a pump & dumper? The Tron variants have sold pretty well for a while depending on the cover. The ASM has been pretty consistently over $50. So true. Any book that gets talked about get essentially getting 'pumped', I mean look at this thread title. By that logic, anyone whose posted a book in this thread is a pumper no different than CBSI. Jerome Pumping and dumping falls under the "you know it when you see it" umbrella. Unfortunately people can't always see it. Very big difference between casually mentioning a demonstrative sales trend in this thread and posting an article on a website solely dedicated to making money by reselling books. And then using imaginary print numbers to push rarity of said books. And then having links to buy said books under said article. Are the Tron variants being mentioned because they are actually heating up? A few of those have always sold well (the ASM, the Hulks, the Avengers one with Moon Knight) but are they doing better now? If the argument to buy these books is simply that they've been ignored for the past 5 years and now people are catching on, well that doesn't hold much water. If you aren't using actual market data to make a case for a book here, then you better have some actual reasons, facts, and evidence to support your position. If your advice is of the "low print, variant cover, book has legs" variety then just please go away. This thread is about discussing books that are heating up. If its heating up because of a spec site, or someones granny recommended it , who cares , its still heating up. And some are interested in just that. If that annoys you, simply don't open the thread If a book is "heating up" due to manipulation then it's in the best interest for everyone that cares about this hobby and its future to reveal and share that information. The more people that get burned by manufactured heat, the more people that will walk away from this hobby. Anyone who truly doesn't care if a book is selling at a premium because of manufactured heat is doing nothing for but taking the money and running. They definitely don't care about the future of the hobby, they are the ones that will walk away from the wreckage of a crash and never look back as they run off to the next money maker. This statement in itself is redundant. I think most understand the power these boards hold in regards to market trends. If you post something "heating up", more people see it on here. More potential buyers, driving up price and / or demand.

  7. Ratchet & Clank Sets have been pulling $60 for about a year. I think the movie is in theaters now, correct? Want some fun? Search this message board a bit. I started a weekly modern spec thread years ago. My initial pick was Ratchett & Clank. Man. Did I get crucified here & on Bleeding Cool for it. Hilarious. Once again my instincts are dead balls on.
  8. Technically, since these aren't even for sale yet....how are they heating up ? Where's the baseline ? A set costs / will cost $45.
  9. Pulled this from this thread. Batman Adventures 12 Megacon Variants
  10. Ratchet & Clank Sets have been pulling $60 for about a year. I think the movie is in theaters now, correct? the sets have been doing pretty decently for a long time. sort of like uncharted. Yes, there weren't nearly as many available a year ago though. More like Earthworm Jim and Sly Cooper.
  11. That's actually brilliant I think it's silly that you have to buy these specific variants (I'm assuming) for CGC to slab it with your name. Why can't I just pick up any B&W cover and start coloring??? Usually the B&W cost more. But hey, it's a free country.

  14. Really? I don't think it will be an issue. Depends on the volume your shop of course.
  15. I thought this was the best part: I buy between 300 and 400 comics a month,i deal in trenders only, and wopuld be hard pressed to sell it to one of my investors So this guy has "investors" but he doesn't know what an ashcan is? Is he like the Bernie Madoff of comics?
  16. Of anything I read on these boards, this is the sign of the impending doom. Item as listed: Ghost in the Shell #1 ashcan Me: You left a comment that you will never purchase from me again. Why is that? Buyer: I thought I bought 2 comics not one being a flyer Me: I'm sorry you thought you were getting something different. However, you received what was advertised. Buyer: that's why I gave you positive feedback. but you didn't go out of your way to let people who aren't experts on comic s know that it wasn't a comic so I feel deceived because had I known it wasn't,i wouldn't have bought it,and I don't want to deal with people I have to worry about tricking me. I buy between 300 and 400 comics a month,i deal in trenders only, and wopuld be hard pressed to sell it to one of my investors ,unless your telling me theres no full size comic? I gave you good feedback so how I feel is not important anyway Me: If you're buying that many comics you should be familiar with the term ashcan in regards to a comic. Buyer: well I do buy that many comics and I still don't know what ashcan means and I now have 11 of those itsy bitsy cflyers withj no idea what i'm going to do with them but there are 10 others out there like you who don't warn anybody, and i'm not dealing with them again eather. and no I cant put them back on line because I would have to warn people how small they are and then nobody would buy them, but you already know that
  17. Dunno about all of that...the Governor's 1st app has signifigantly dropped in FMV. Sell, Mortimer....sell WD is a strong book but the inherent problem with holding WD's is that there are effloads of others out there who have the same outlook. When the WD hoarders decide to sell, there will be a massive glut of WD's all over eBay. A lot of them will be listed auction style, and since there will be plenty to go around, they will close low...then the BIN prices will have to be dropped. If I had a WD 132 CGC 9.8, I would just list it now on eBay, at $75 higher than the highest sale in GPA.I'm guessing that'd be around a $200 BIN. It likely won't sell for a while but the more copies listed at higher BIN's will effect the perceived value.Betcha it would sell in a month or two. After that 9.8 sells, rinse and repeat. I think he meant to post that in this thread.
  18. No idea who wrote the description but Did they really think it was a good idea to write it all in all caps with a slant? Couldn't even read it and it hurt my eyes. Keep the ebay descriptions short and to the point, about 800 characters, eBay mobile is where a majority of ebay sales are coming from and people don't have time to read long descriptions in all caps that are bolded and slanted. Don't need shipping and return info in the description cause all that info is already on the first page. Hey man, it's based on "rumar"s
