  1. So glad I didn't accept swagacorn's offer on my TOS 57 last week.
  2. Out on a limb here, but I'm guessing Worm Picker doesn't require a resume.
  3. Can't get Fight Club and The Pixies out of my head when I read this thread title. FWIW, get both
  4. You're in! You just can't go in the champagne room JK. Nice early X-men collection there.
  5. To me this implies that a deal was not reached unless you replied and confirmed. When people ask me "what would you say to $X for this book?" I do not take it as a firm offer and ask them to confirm. When they say " I will give you $X for this book" I take it as a firm offer. If the seller saw that you had read the PM but did not reply he may have assumed you were tire-kicking. That's what I would think, as well. But I am impatient. Ask around.
  6. Before you "get to" or before you "do"? How much time passed?
  7. Cap 7 4.0 blue coming back this week. Will be posting in G/S/B after it arrives.
  8. Gabe, you need to get that chip off of your shoulder man. If this is your attitude (a combination of self-pity and thinking that employers owe you something) I weep for the future. Best advice I ever received was from a partner who said when a client or another partner asks if you can do something (meaning do you have the time or capability) - the answer is always YES. Then go figure out how.
  9. Oh yeah. Anyone who is seriously bidding on this one should go to Dallas to examine it closely. I know I would. Would like to see the inside of that cover
  10. It shouldn't have and I don't think it did. In my experience, CGC has lately tended to be pretty hard on tanning, much less hard on dust shadows. Without having bought the grader's notes, I would guess they considered this a dust shadow and, so, failed to hammer it. I agree with you, though, that it's off-putting and the type of flaw I tend to avoid with books in my ballpark. Of course, this book is in a different ballpark -- actually, more like a different sport altogether. Yep, but the spine has it as well. Yes, another sport altogether. Just doesn't justify the gift and it makes me wonder ... edit: whether it is the submission or the submitter
  11. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful book and I'd love to own it, but that tanning is a defect that cgc hammers on other lesser keys
  12. No intent to buy. Just asked whether the book got a pass because it is an AF 15.
  13. $500K. Because it's a NM copy of the #3 book in the hobby. -J. Eye Roll all you want. But it sure as mess is not NM
  14. Is the tanning getting a pass just because it's an AF15?
  15. Thanks, man. Uchicha, I know this isn't a sales thread but feel free to shoot me a link to the book.
  16. Exactly. But for me, Overpriced book + overpriced shipping + tacking on 3% (which, frankly is a Seller's cost in my view) = my perception that they are firm in their price and most likely no purchase from me.
  17. I finally received the $10 payment today. Movin on. Good to hear you haven't had to resort the following methods, to get your ten bucks, from some character who just couldn't bear to part with his apparently beloved Alexander Hamilton...... https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video;_ylt=A0LEVyvqYrFW_BwAnbNXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEyYWNjYXM5BGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDQjExNzhfMQRzZWMDc2M-?p=Paperboy+I+Want+My+5+Dollars&fr=tightropetb#id=4&vid=5c53f34fa786480ac7643b5435a85ddc&action=view Nice stealth edit. I vote no.
  18. Pedrin has a great synopsis and makes a compelling argument for 83 in his book. If I think of it, I'll scan a copy of the page tonight. Gist is: 81 (Sgt. Rocky) is a prototype, much like the several other prototypes (eg. GIC 68). 83 is the first time we see Sgt. Franklin Rock and Easy Co. But don't take my word for it, there are plenty of more well-versed guys on here that have discussed it, and for the most part, settled the issue. 83 is it, but get 81 and 82 and the others as well.
