Historic acquisition, my last of 2023
Jayman replied to SOTIcollector's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
So sad that no one saw fit to point out the potential for children (or adults) to broaden their imagination by enjoying the artistic creativity in many of these strips or comics. They provided escapism, humor and relaxation for many, I’m sure. -

Wertham vs. Dr.Phibes himself! would love to see that debate. -

Now you need this Bailey book to go with it as a matching pair. The inset text works so well; My Love Was Dying!

Blowing up this Boris work, I realized that the women’s legs are translucent. They are ghost like spirits, something I never noticed before in the small inset.

Astonishing #29 1951 Candaian Version? Photocopy cover?
Jayman replied to grigoriane's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
What’s interesting is that the man behind the curtain appears to have been holding a gun at one point. It looks like it was omitted by the publisher at the last minute or due to Canadian restrictions. -

Sorry, I couldn’t get to the other 2 long boxes filled with the Toy-Biz X-Men figures. But they do fit and stack nicely standing upright one in front of the other in a long box. The amount depends on the depth of the individual blisters, but assume around 10 per box. -
Me too. It’s like you were creating a prehistoric world as you went along. Marketing genius! My only gripe as a kid is that I wanted a full model of the wooly rhino! I thought it was cool and felt cheated with it being cut in half!

Had and built both of these as a kid. Unfortunately they did not survive their multiple battles with my GI Joes! 😜

Believe it or not, yes! Happened purely by accident but I had the carded figures randomly in a cardboard box just shifting around when I realized I had two empty long boxes nearby. I placed one inside and it was a perfect fit! Ill try to take a pic after work…
