Does anyone know how many graders CGC has? Just curious.

They either need to increase the turnaround time estimates, or give some money back when they miss. a la the old $30 minutes or it's free.
If they miss the turnaround time on standard then they should refund so it's the cost of economy.
Of course they would never do this.
Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees, so there is no reason for them to give any refunds. I don't disagree that the TATs on Standard have been a bit disappointing lately. I'm most irritated by the fact that non-FT moderns are coming back faster that FTed Economy, despite the latter tier costing around twice as much as the former. The pricier tiers have been slipping while moderns have been seriously sped up.
Totally understand that it's an estimate. What I don't like is they know they won't meet the turnaround times that they quote, so it's disingenuous on their part to list those TATs. Also, it looks better to give a longer estimate and then deliver early then give a shorter estimate and be late.
Customer service is all about managing expectations.

Nothing since.
Not looking good for that 15 business day turnaround.

ok just looked at it again and i can't tell. man i need glasses. if you aren't sure, you may want to put up the book on the PGM thread and see what others think. i don't know what else to say. i'm sure your book is ok
I looked at the inside briefly before sending it out, but just to make sure no pages were cut.
I mentioned in the PGM thread that someone here thought they saw color touch. So we'll see what they have to say.
Luckily, if it does come back a 7.5 restored I'll still be able to sell it for $350 or so.
When I looked again at the scan, I think what he is seeing as color touch is just the discoloration from the foxing.
If this was color touched, you'd think the person would have done something with the overspray.
Now the 4-6 weeks just became less fun.

I just got back from the post office to send it to CGC. Hoping for a 7.0 or 7.5
You didn't notice all that yellow color-touch along the spine?
If you're joking, not cool. If you're being serious. Where do you see something?

!
He was asking $450 but because it was a pawn shop I knew I could offer partial trade. Ended up giving $175 cash, a 12 year old movado with beat up leather band worth about $60 and an old iPod Nano worth $30.

Little bit of light foxing on the bottom of the cover and on the back, but that's the only problem that I see with it.

Re-slabbing was super quick. Less than 10 days.

Here's a collage I made out of inexpensive comic books. My version of Edward Munch's The Scream. Working on my second collage right now.
Totally agree! Very interesting.
I also enjoy the thought that alot of (probably crappy 90's drek ? ) comics are being put to some kind of valuable use
I use mainly comics from around 2006 to present because that's when most comic books started being made out of glossy magazine paper instead of newsprint. Magazine paper is much easier to cut out and glue.

Thanks everyone!
The one I'm working on right now is a painting by El Greco.
Here's the original painting. (I used the Silver Surfer for all of the smaller figures)

Just got my shipment of books. Books look even nicer in person. Best shipping I have seen. Would have needed to take a hammer to the package to damage the books. A++
