I have a question...how does a book with pieces missing from two corners get a grade of 6.5 from CGC? WTF? I'm talking about the TLP #5 that just sold on HA for $740...

I think I'll do one of those too, that looks like fun...stay tuned.

So, how high do you guys think that CL25 will go? I already have mine, so the higher the better. See, collecting is a two-edged sword...I want to buy low, but i like seeing the value of MY books escalate...is that hypocritical?

Based on the fingers on that cover, I'm revising my opinion of the ATAP Love Story #2 to being by Baker...

 

Really? Because, I believe the hands are the least convincing evidence to support APATLS2 being by Baker! (And I'm one of the strongest advocates of Baker's participation in the aforementioned cover.)

Well, the faces are similar too, but the fingers are identical. So, maybe two people worked on both covers...It just seems to have the same gestalt on each book...

due to apparent lack of interest in working together to curb high prices (which some of you seem to relish) I decided to abandon the want list/ union concept. Sorry about that...it's back to every man for himself, and I hope you guys don't get burned too badly in the future due to this price escalation frenzy.

Regarding reprints...Do we really collect Bakers for the stories?

I'm not an expert on any of those...but the last one might be a little scarce.

I think if nobody gets stupid and buys them he will.

I bought the first one off the stand...the 2nd one was given to me...or it came in a batch I bought a long time ago.

We should work on that over the next few days. Toss out ideas, figure out dues, elect a boss...yada, yada...but, seriously, we should try to get together on this. Remember, in numbers there is strenth...

Why would you want a coverless FF5? Do you have a nice cover for one? I don't understand replacing a G with a CV...

 

I'm working on a run of early FF's, all coverless or very, very low grade. That way I get to read original books for a minimum price. Where most people are upgrading, I'm downgrading.

I think we need to all show our want lists, make a pact not to spend over double guide on any Baker book, and help each other locate our wants. This madness needs to end. It's time for the Baker Union...

No, I bid $125 on the Authentic Police 15...should have went for the TLP 2... It's kinda like Vegas...
