No I don't like man thing at all and where all you getting all your time evaluations? The way I would send it would be about a month's time but I'll count it since I'm curious. What you are NOT acknowledging is that there has NOT been a sale of an ASM #129 CGC 8.0 over $1000.00 - You paid $956 by the time you account for taxes and shipping to you. The HIGHEST sale of a 8.0 was $943. Your costs are already over the highest amount paid for this book to date. What you are not answering is HOW do you think you are going to get $1100 or $1200 for this book? Are you counting on setting the next GPA high? There are PLENTY of sellers offering this book and many who also offer time payments without a buyer having to pay a "premium" for the privilege of time payments. Now, if you pay to send it to CGC to get pressed and graded, provided you don't pay for fast track (which costs more) you are either going to A) have your money tied up for a long time or B) spend more to get it back sooner. Say to ship the slab to CCS is what, $15 USD to ship to USA properly insured. To have it have it pressed is another $25 USD (Value?). So say roughly another $40. Then another $35 USD for Economy grading tier. Then another what, $40 to $50 to have it FedEx back? So roughly another $100 MINIMUM to have ship it out, pressed, graded, shipped back. You would be looking at a total investment hovering around $1,100.00 USD or so. Here is the $1,100 question...What if after all this time and extra expenses it DOES NOT get a grade bump? Did you even LOOK at the book using the scan feature on the site to check for imperfections? I did. Did you not see the staple tear? The spine ticks? What do the graders notes say? What makes you so certain that it will get a bump? Even if it gets a .5 bump you will likely still be in the hole after selling fees. BIG, poorly conceived and irresponsible purchase. I looked at all the things that would make this comic better after pressing, multiple creases, dirty front and back cover, corners that can be pressed out a bit, waviness and also spine roll. I acknowledge that I paid the most for a 8.0 but that was because I thought I was getting a 8.5 and yes if no one buys outright or time payments in 1-2 months time I'll review the graders notes and decide what to do because I asked 5 pressers if the staple tear is a problem and one 1 said he can do it without making it worse and I already sent comics to him before. So the other four pressers warned you about the tear? Spine roll on that book?

There is a tear on the front cover by the top staple. Pressing this book could drop the grade if the tear expands. Gabe, I do not understand why you continue to buy three figure comic books. Your video game buying and selling (as seen on YouTube) shows that you can play small ball. Big dollar books tie up your money, and one case of fraud could cripple you.

PPSM got interesting right around 64 and had a good stretch. ASM was selling about 240-245K a month then. Avengers was around 220-225K. Iron Man was at 175-180k. Batman was at about 110K. I don't have the PPSM data. I still think ASM was selling more. mycomicshop.com has a statement of ownership listed for issues 65 and 78. Average paid circulation is 171,839 and 172,262 copies respectively.

Now, if we are saying collectors were not buying cases of these books then, I cannot argue with that. But to say speculation was not occurring when NM 98 came out is not true. I don't see where anyone said speculation wasn't occurring. Did you have a specific comment in mind? I certainly was speculating. From #93 on, I bought 15 copies of each book, all the way up to #100, because I believed Liefeld was the new McFarlane. And he was. Kinda. I was initially just buying one of each, but I found a bunch of extra 86s and was buying multiples as of the early to mid 90s. Time to slab the 7 98s. Exactly why I believe there are still a lot of raw HG copies out there. The collectors who brought it on the first mini-bump probably still have most of their copies in the same HG condition. Not UHG, but still in HG condition. Even at the smaller local conventions here, I still see raw HG copies of this book at most of the dealer booths. Of course, it would appear that they are asking for almost slab prices on them. Any idea what the census numbers are on this book in 9.2 condition and above? RMA: Hope you still have your 15 copies of NM 98 or did you sell most of them off during the first min-bump back in '93? He made a lot of money.

That may be true, but it's only due to perception/demand/hoarding. There's no way there are more Annual 14s than 266s. I think the annual may have sold more copies than issue 266. According to Marvel Age #93, X-Men Annual #14 outsold in the direct sales market both Uncanny X-Men issues in May 1990. And according to Marvel Age #94, Uncanny X-Men #266 was not even the best-selling issue of its own series in the direct sales market for the month of June 1990.

A few dealers were pumping Avengers #223 in the 2015-2016 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide because of the Taskmaster connection. I guess I got that information mixed up with the movie art being released. No copies have sold in the last 24 hours so it appears the demand for this book didn't make it through the weekend. It's a great cover and not as easy to find in high grade due to the white. Was there any commenting about Marvel Team-Up #103? 3rd Taskmaster, 2nd full appearance and cover, add Ant Man (and Spidey) to boot. Another great cover. I think one report mentioned it along with The Thing #26 and a few others, but I do not remember it being pushed as hard as Avengers #223.

10+ copies of X-Force #11 have sold on eBay this year, but the large supply has kept prices down. The Fury of Firestorm "keys" seem to have cooled considerably on eBay, except perhaps issue 23.

Avengers #223 is not selling at Overstreet Guide prices ($18 in NM-) yet, but over a dozen copies have moved on eBay over the last two days. Apparently a non-first appearance by the Taskmaster spurred the sales.

No demand for Ms Marvel or Captain Marvel? Or do you just see that demand from older collectors? Which runs? The BA Starlin Captain Marvel books and BA Ms. Marvel #1 and #18 show demand, along with MSH #12/#13 and the Strange Tales Starlin Warlock arc. As far as the new runs, Captain Marvel is slow - I move a #1 every from the last two series every second or third show but that is it. The 1st appearance of Kamala Ms. Marvel and her solo title has slowed a lot as well - I had no requests for it this fall, but it did sell decently at the shows this spring. Maybe the "All New" relaunch has killed interest in the back issues? Whoa, I figured Kamala Khan would be a big seller for you. The Google+ comic groups convinced me she was already the breakout Marvel character of the decade.

This is a small thing, but your YouTube/Kijiji stuff indicates you are near the USA border, your board ID location says you live in Alberta, and your eBay listings say your books are located north of Toronto. If I was looking to buy one of your books off eBay and discovered your YouTube/Kijiji/Board locations were different from your eBay location, then I would not go forward with the purchase.

Did you watch the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS, Gabe? If you did, you know Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, and Chris Colabello shined as the heart of their batting order. Each of those guys was written off at some point (or in Colabello's case, never heard of) by the majority of the baseball cognescenti. They could not show off their home run hitting power because they had holes in the rest of their game. You know you can hit homers, but the rest of your game is lacking, just like it was for those guys! So work your way up from the minors like they did. Step up your small ball game, just like jcjames said above me and others said above him. Dig through those dollar boxes, learn from the awesome people here giving you advice, and start laying down bunts on eBay or singles on this board. And if you happen to find a full run of New Mutants (Vol. 1) for cheap at a yard sale? Congrats, you hit a minor league homer. Now go out there and find some copies of New Mutants #26 for a dollar each. Same goes for Marvel Comics Presents #19 or X-Factor #15 or anything else that should sell for $5 US or more on eBay. I know these comics are plentiful in the wild in Ontario. But you have an advantage over some people, because you can use your grading skills to avoid mid-to-lower-grade copies, and they do not know how to grade. Then put them on eBay, sell them, and build your reputation, and, perhaps more importantly, your confidence!

Am I missing something? You traded a CGC 9.0 ASM #129 for a raw potential 9.0 BA #12? That sounds like an absolutely terrible trade for you.

Except there's no where he could've gotten that information. He has no proof. I normally order 2 copies of Scooby Do TU for my store, I ordered 12 of #12. I'm certainly not the only person who upped their order on it. I'm also thinking it's going to be in the 10-12,000 range. At least. I'll ask him where he got that figure of 7,000 from, , in a couple days, next time I stop by his shop. He also said that he thought the book was worthless and he was annoyed that he had 5 people walk in, he had never seen before, asking if he had any copies. He has 0 copies for sale, FTR. I've known the guy for a couple years, he's a pretty straight forward guy and he does not chase after ,or push, hot books.That said, he has no motive to tell me that he was "sure" that the print run was 7000. Maybe he knows somebody at DC or Diamond and got some inside intelligence...or maybe not.hell if I know. ... So where did your LCS owner get his inaccurate figure? 15,436 copies is not even close to 7,000 copies.

So, the 2nd print will be hyped as the First "2nd Print" for a Scooby Doo Title... And if the 2nd print has a lower print run, it will be "First 2nd Print Scooby. Rarest Harley" I can't wait for the numbers to see if this is all hype. I think anything over 10,000 is going to be a disappointment. Batman '66 went from 13,653 copies sold to 17,001 copies sold earlier this year when the '66 version of Harley Quinn graced the cover (all sales numbers from comichron.com). Scooby Doo Team-Up #11 had sales of 6,809 copies. SDTU #12 had more hype and cartoon Harley, so I would guess it outdid the 3348 copy bump that Batman '66 #25 had. At least two comic book stores in Ontario, Canada went 100 copies deep on SDTU #12. So I'm fully expecting a print run over 10,000 copies. I would estimate the print run was around 12,000 copies. A 15,000+ print run would be a disappointment to me.
