  1. Right there with ya! Verified 4/8 still waiting for movement. Here's a quote from yesterday that'll make you, well, less happy...
  2. 4/21/14--->Still sitting @ verified...10 business days with no movement (not counting the day it was received). I'm 3 days behind you at 4/11 with my Coupon. I'll have to follow and see when they grade yours, hopefully in a week or two. Well, since my 3/31 just moved to Scheduled for Grading I'd guess you have another couple of weeks... Wow! I guess the 15 day turn around estimate is waaaayyyyy off! I'm still confused on why CGC's business model of "Relatively expensive...Never on time...Always late...Misleading turnaround estimates...blue-purple-blue-purple...pay for a membership...your grade isn't guaranteed, it's only an opinion...pay for your own graders notes" is successful? I need to figure it out so I can make millions by providing sub-par service...while making people LOVE me!
  3. 4/21/14--->Still sitting @ verified...10 business days with no movement (not counting the day it was received).
  4. Coupon Submission 4 SA books Received/ Verified - 4/8 No movement yet...
  5. I sent this rough old girl to Joey and then off to CGC via a coupon submission. It was verified 4/8/14 , so hopefully I'll have results by the end of the month.Care to guess the grade? I'll post a scan of the slab when I get it. Maybe the comic gods will shine on me as they did Philreal! (thumbs u
  6. Yeah you're not going to find a new one. The HP ScanJet 8300 was released in 2009. I think its MSRP was close to $600. The specs show if you use it with and ADF it scans 25ppm http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/il/en/sm/WF06b/15179-15179-64195-3445111-3445111-1118287-1118289.html?dnr=2 When I first got my scanner, I scanned 60 slabs in about 40 min at 300dpi. If you could auto feed slabs I'm sure I'd be faster. You should be able to find a used one for about $80 shipped, with a major part of the cost going to shipping. The thing is huge! So...is there anything new or newer out there that will do the job? It's hard to believe that EVERY scanner made since 2009 can't handle slabs. Or, that not a single AIO will do the job well enough? I would rather have an AIO and I don't want to spend a boat load of cash either...let's say less than $400.
  7. If that was a Heritage pick-up...I was bidding against you! Here's my grab!
  8. So...I've read quite a few posts here and there seems to be a consensus on the stand alone HP Scanjet 8300 scanner. Are there any all-in-one's out there that will do the job? I've been looking at the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One which will scan 8.5"x14". It uses CIS technology. Has anybody tried this AIO or have an idea if any will work? Keep in mind I'm not looking for studio quality scans. I just want something that will allow me to get some reasonably nice slab scans and be usable for other office duties. (thumbs u
  9. Mass Copy. It's a nice one! Not in my hands yet, but on its way!
  10. Nothing special...but it's Nick Fury and it goes on the comic room wall!! On its way from the seller now. Bought it shipped for less than it cost to get it slabbed, so I guess I didn't do too bad
  11. How are you hanging the slabs without a frame? Probably a big NO-NO, but I'm using LARGE Command Strips. Carefully applying them without bending the slab case. !!!!!BUT!!!!!, it wouldn't be something I'd do with a comic worth more than a couple of hundred! It says right on the back of the box "Do not use to hang valuables or collectables"! The most valuable I have on the wall is the CGC 9.9 Walking Dead #1 New York Variant. That being said, I don't want any of my books to hit the floor, so I check them frequently!
  12. Hi, I'm new here. Love collecting and just had a chace to get back in to it. Good to be back! Brandon
