  1. Finally a member of this club! Here is my copy
  2. I bought a nice ASM #129 from Dan. Issue was packed great and he shipped quickly!!! All around great experience!
  3. One of my favorite covers! Below is the one I have. This is one of those books that I hope to upgrade at some point.
  4. I got mine back from the CGC today. Bought it off the boards back in December - really happy with it!
  5. I finally got the Hulk statue to go with my Thor. Always thought these two went well together!!!
  6. Early Christmas present exchange this year with my partner - I tend to always get one comic. This year, I got this! It will go well with my Thor statue. Now I just need to buy a nice Hulk statue to go with it and put all three on display
  7. I bought a Fantastic Four #67 CGC book from Trey. Package was shipped safely and quickly!!! I would definately buy from again! Thanks!!!
  8. Have to agree to disagree with you on this one. To me if a seller has the time to scan the front / back of a comic and give it a grade, then their grade should also include what the inside of the comic is like.
  9. I have probably purchased 12 or so raw issues from Sparkle City this year. In general, I thought their grades were pretty reasonable to the issue I received. Warning though - Look at the inside of the issue you buy carefully. Their descriptions and pictures are related to the cover and back of the comic - not so much the inside. I have returned two issues to them for issues not mentioned in their description. One was for writing that occurred in the issue and the second was for cut outs on various pages (i.e. coupons, etc). I did get refunds for both with no hassle; however no shipping refund. After the second one, I put in a neutral feedback and subsequently got my shipping refunded - but they banned from bidding on any of their items again
  10. I recently purchased a Spider-Man #5 from Thomas and it was well packaged and it arrived safely! Thanks!!!
  11. No Date stamp on mine either, but realized that I am not part of the club and want to be!
  12. Of the comics that were on sale this month 50 years ago, What would you (or did you) buy? The link below lists the various comics that were on sale in October 1964 (50 years ago). I thought it would be fun to look at the list and decide what 5 comics we would pick up at the newsstand, if we could go back 50 years. For some of us (like me), I was not born yet - but some of us here can probably tell us what they actually bought! http://www.dcindexes.com/features/timemachine.php?site=all&type=calendar&month=10&year=1964&sort=alpha My choices would be: 1) Spider-Man #20 2) Strange Tales $128 (cause of the Scarlet Witch) 3) Sgt Fury #13 (great cover) 4) Avengers #11 5) Archie Christmas Stocking Magazine #31 (Assuming I would be a kid, I liked Archie and anything to do with Christmas!) 17. Sold Mike a book and he paid very quick. The entire transaction went as smooth as one could wish for! Thanks again!
  18. I got mine back from the CGC earlier this week! Was holding onto this one for awhile and finally decided to get it graded.
  19. That's a nice looking 5.0!!! (thumbs u
  20. Great Buyer! Quick Payment and Great Communication!
  21. HI! Tell me about your experience with me as either a buyer or seller. Thanks!
  22. Just me letting off some steam... In general, I am not much of a complainer (though on that new Facebook survey, I did rate as being 57% person_without_enough_empathyy). But going to use this as an outlet to complain about myself sending in a book to the CGC with a flaw that I somehow missed. I have seen various people comment on receiving a CGC grade that was lower than they originally expected - so I figured its my turn. Of the few raw comics that I have sent in, most of mine have come back with a grade in the ball park of what I expected - with the exception of one - my X-Men #99. I had actually purchased raw copies of X-Men 98 & 99 from a vendor a couple of years or so ago. In my opinion, both looked to be around 9.0's-9.4's. Back in April, I got both of these books back from CGC. As I expected, issue 98 came in with a grade of 9.4. However, issue 99 came back with a grade of 7.5 (What???) I then started asking myself, "What did I miss? What did they catch that I did not see?" So for the first time ever, I decided to buy the grader notes. I got the notes to see that the grade was due to one comment, "Small Hole Through Book". I did not remember a small hole in the book; although I did remember there being "gripper" holes through the pages. The only thing I can think of without opening the slab is that there were too many gripper holes in the book to give it a good grade. Or maybe there is a tiny hole in the pages of the book that I missed. C'est La Vie.... Anybody else ever send something in to the CGC only to find out the comic had a flaw that you did not notice or that you missed when you submitted your comic? 23. Here is Mine! I have had this one for awhile, but my older pictures and scanner sucked! I just got a new scanner (or should say a used one) that seems to do much better. This is one of those comics that, if you had asked me few years ago or so, I would have said I would never own. Sometimes I look at it and can't believe I do have it.
  24. Thanks! Yes, I really liked that it did not have so many of the bent corners - which is one of the reasons I liked it. I will have it re-slabbed - but not in a rush. I don't see myself parting with it anytime soon
