This showed up in a collection recently, what a great trip down memory lane! DtM was my go to newspaper strip for my whole childhood.

I'm re-reading Strangers in Paradise, and so should you! Unless you've somehow missed this masterpiece, then it should be number 1 on your must read list... The series changed how I viewed modern comics, the same way Starlin's warlock changed how I viewed sci-fi.

Wally that's terrible, I would not be very happy. A call would be made. I'm very sorry to see that you had these problems, and I would be pretty livid over it. I think The issues with the books, especially the SS 4, look to be from encapsulation rather than shipping, but you never know. I recently sent in a major SA Marvel key for reholdering. The reholdering went fine, but the packaging on the way back looked like my 16 year old niece (who's attention to detail is.....lacking) was in charge of the shipping department. Just POOR service, and not the first time. I'm now shipping submissions to a different Florida address...... I cringed so hard at the SS#4

Really? I'm seeing lower prices on most mid-lower grade books. What are you seeing heating up since the spring?

It will be come December I've been thinking about this. Will the general Star Wars fans care about first appearances? Sure, I imagine more interest in the comics when the new movie hits, but will a specific issue (other than #1) command any sort of premium for that crowd? Assuming there's no character or theme carried over into the new movies, I don't see any one issue rising above the rest. This would be a true 1st appearance, even before they show up on film. And with the flood of Star Wars media Disney is about to unleash on us for the rest of our lives, sooner or later these characters will pop up on screen. its hard to believe there would be ZERO impact on the comics. That's what I'm saying though. If the Star Wars community at large is to create an impact on a specific issue, that character would need to appear outside of the comics. Absolutely, it's a coin flip, they either appear in a movie or they don't. But, If they do though, look out. 3 First appearances with an 85K run. Even if just the droids show up unnamed, I think there's a winner here.

I usually go for the action cover over the character just standing there, and I collect homage covers so this is not close for me.

Yep. I think it's a much better and far more significant cover than the Larocca variant that sells for double. You're kidding right? The Larroca cover is classic!

Great pick-up on a very tough book to find in any higher grade condition. Congrats! +1 super underrated book!

Do you guys buy 2nd prints of your grails as a place holder? I know Strangers in Paradise 2nd and 3rd print had the same print run as the 1st print(3000), so they are just as rare with the same cover. For Bone I think any print other than number 1 isn't very desirable. I know for silver grails I went with the golden record 2nd prints and they have been really hot over the past 2 years.. HIgh grade raw books without the records could be found for under $100 in 2013, now VG's are going for more than that. If SiP ever gets popular again, I don't see those 9000 copies across 3 printings staying cheap.
