  1. As I mentioned before if I was submitting for blue labels I would get an account of my own and not use anyone. Cheers, Howard
  2. Does Gotham Central do cons like San Diego? All of my submissions through Paradise are SS books. Gotham are not much use if they don’t. Cheers, Howard
  3. I just got word that my two House of Secrets 92 sent in a year ago is ready for pickup. Hooray! Cheers, Howard
  4. I just forwarded the link to this thread to Jeff the new manager and Peter the owner. Hopefully they will address the issues brought up here. Cheers, Howard
  5. “So why does anyone risk a 3rd party where you can't even get info about your submissions?” Its very difficult to submit to CGC signature series at Cons via your own account unless CGC has a booth there. Paradise can get signatures at the cons they go to since they have witnesses on hand. That’s why I go through them. If I was just getting books slabbed I would use my own account.
  6. All I know is that I have been dealing with Paradise for years with thousands of dollars in SS books. I have never seen such long delays previously in getting my books back. I think they are in financial trouble and I just pray that I can get my books back before their doors close. As I mentioned before they spent a small fortune on store renovations by adding square feet to the back of the store. It’s tripled in size as a result. That takes a lot of sales to recoup those expenditures. I just don’t think they have seen that happen.
  7. Ok. So I’m back from Paradise. The first bit of good news was the front door was open. Yes they are in business. The second bit of good news was a couple of my books(out of 18) were actually in for pickup. A positive sign. The website they say is being redesigned and no they are not going out of business. Also the delays are at CGCs end not theirs. Not sure whether to believe that or not but anyway I got some books back which makes me feel a bit better. I will keep the pressure on. Cheers, Howard
  8. I’m starting to wonder if Paradise is going out of business. A year ago they spent a small fortune renovating their store. I see their website has been suspended. Not a good sign. I will go in tomorrow and see what’s going on. Will update you on what I find. Cheers, Howard
  9. I also have two books outstanding from Paradise for almost a year now. Also have two shipments from San Diego CC outstanding. Doug left last July and I don’t know about the new Manager. His name is Jeff. I have never waited on books this long before from Paradise. All of them were fast tracked. Very disappointed in the service level. I may try Gotham on my next shipment. Cheers, Howard
  10. Did you slap The Man in the head, or were his goons around? It was done under a very reputable comic store during their watch. I had nothing to do with it. bet I could guess which one A clue....Canadian book store

  12. I have an ASM 70 signed by Stan right over John Romita obliterating his signature. I will try and take a pic tomorrow and post.
  13. Such a sweet book. I think there will be some buyers turned off by the YL, but there are probably some people even willing to pay more for a sig book. Personally, I would never buy a signed high grade classic. A high grade common, non-ped book I'd have no problem getting signed. Getting the TC 227 9.8 signed is tothemarketdownthestreetforsomeCRAZY (imo) Normally I'd agree but seeing the miswrap on that book I actually don't mind. It is sad someone would do this to a ped copy. Probably just did it for the potential dollars too, which makes it even sadder. Guys give your heads a shake. I guess you wouldn't buy a Monet or a Cezanne because(shudder) it's signed by the artist. Cheers, Howard
  14. You're missing the varient for #37 Spider-man. Cheers, Howard So my quick web search turned up nothing. Do you have info on said variant? It's more like a production glitch. On the 37 you have there is a patch of colour missing on spideys leg. The other card has this filled in with the proper colour so nothing is blank. The latter is harder to find but I did get one on eBay after a long wait. Cheers, Howard

  16. I would never list any here. Might give some folks ideas to match me. Cheers, Howard
  17. This whole thread is a big yawner. Look at the feedback this guy gets and the very satisfied customers. Frankly this is all that matters. Who cares if the books are trimmed or has some colour touch. I can understand your personal preference to not buy them but to go off and say this is defiling a book is ludicrous. It's a comic for goodness sake not the Bible etc. You can keep it pristine, cut out panels for a scrapbook hang the centre page up on the wall even trim the edges. It's all good. It's your book. And if people are willing to pay big bucks knowing the perceived faults who are we really to judge. Even if those faults are done to improve appearance. There is no deception here as far as I can see. Too many folks on this forum like getting on way too high a horse for their own good. Just relax. Cheers, Howard
  18. I have stuff in for CCS then CGC since beginning of last September. Still to be graded. Cheers, Howard
  19. I can't believe that such a simple question and topic has become such a convoluted controversy with attacks and counter attacks, accusations and personal vendettas. This thread became so stupidly off track with enough dumb psychology to fill several volumes. I think there are several people here that should apologize for idiotic behaviour I haven't seen since grade school. This is a forum where opinions are aired fair enough and differences can take place. I learned the hard way by being overly sensitive to comments made to me as a newbie. I've called people bullies here. But that was just me not being used to the culture. This is a tough forum no question. It can be very blunt in nature and sometimes insensitivity rules but I've found that to take things personally is silly. Hold your own and you will do ok. In the end you can always walk away. I chose to stay. Cheers, Howard
  20. I've never noticed it before but when you quote 8 or more in one email it looks very artistic. Like art nouveau. Cheers, Howard
