  1. I think our hoppy has legs and will continue to grow but mostly for the silver and golden age. I think a lot of older comics don't have that many around and as people get into them they will grow in popularity and there price will grow as well. The movies are definitely helping but in 1939 if you asked the same question if, you then had people reading them for a long time. People are in love with super heros and will continue to do so. I think in the future women will get more into them as well. Watch the price of wonder woman's in the future
  2. Hello fellow boardies Since pressing is not considered restoration but it is frowned on, how does one detect pressing other than word of mouth. Is pressing shown on grader notes of a slabbed comic. Any help would be appreciated
  3. Late to the party. I store my comics in a large gun safe. I don't think anything is fireproof or waterproof and I don't think it's healthy for the comics. I fixed that problem with water and fire alarms. I saw the note on the hulk a while ago. To me it still looks like a cleaning and press gone bad and stabbed right after the procedure
  4. I always get nervous that if I low ball the value, they may be more harsh on the grade. Maybe it's just me
  5. Thank you sir. It will be in my collection for a while. It is the first of my wonder women run. Don't know why so late. Linda Carter was the bomb
  6. I bought a sensation comics 100 for $800. Highest grade at 6.5. Think I got a great deal but the scarcity doesn't give much of a history. Any thoughts
  7. Thank you all for your comments. The only reason I bring it up is because coin collecting is an item which has never been thrown away. Comic have been thrown away which leads to their scarcity. When comics are selling for $10000!! They are no longer a hobby and there are many now in that category. Somebody brought up the stock market How happy are you today or this month
  8. Recently the price of many comic books have really gone up ( a lot probably due to the movie craze) . Eventually the movies will end but what does that mean to the comic books. The scarcity of some comics just demand the price will go up especially with golden age superheroes. Any thought on this. All opinions are always welcome.
  9. Just curious on how the tax rules on the internet affect me as a collector. I live in New York. Does any comic I buy now do I have to pay tax. I know before heritage and comicconnect were the only ones that taxed me. How about now. And what if I want to sell. Any help would be appreciated
  10. Looking to press some not so expensive comics and then submit to cgc. Not looking to spend too much. Does anybody recommend anybody. Any help will be greatly appreciated
  11. I'm guessing nobody is selling their 9.6 because they feel it is undervalued
  12. Thank you to all. I have many comics which recently have risen in value. My silver surfer # 1 (9.6) has not seen much of a price bump. Wondering why
  13. Just curious as to why such a price jump on ff 48. What does that mean for the silver surfer run especially #1
  14. I bought an asm # 14 cgc 8.5 white pages two years ago for $2000. Now it's worth a lot more. I think there is still some upswing to this one as the #1 green goblin and classic cover
  15. Thank you to all you guys. I didn't even notice the missing piece on the splash page. I am an expert in my field and do appreciate all the feedback I get to help me in my hobby. I will sell this maybe as a 2.0 and keep my 9,6 cgc. It's hard for me to grade low grade comics still.
  16. Hello please grade my silver surfer #1. I give it a 3.0. The cover has creases has a tear on the cover but the interior of the book is in great shape and lays flat. Tell me what you think
  17. I will its locked up now ow to white pages the corners look like a 9.8 on eBay but I'm not an expert on the difference between a 9.6 and 9.8
  18. The 9.8 go for 33k and the most recent 9.6 sold for 4200. I definitely think the 9.6 is undervalued and should be a 7 k book. If I press mine would it be a 9.8. Very tempting
  19. I don't know if this is a newbie question but I will ask it anyway. Why is silver surfer so hot right now. Particularly FF 48,49 and 50. What is the trend for the silver surfer run and most of all why has my silver surfer 1 (9.6) seen no rise in the past few years
  20. Rumor has it that the deal was not going to go through and then Disney added an Amazing Fantasy #15 cgc 9.2 to seal the deal
  21. It's official fox is now part of Disney. They signed the deal???
  22. I personally think silver age ended when comics moved into the 15 cent period. All periods have a significant event that calls it an age I think the change in price warrents this. Silver age began with the introduction of 12 cent comics given the exception of the 3 10 cent examples that were right before the transition
  23. Hello fellow boardies. Looking to get more myler bags and would like to buy on eBay because I have eBay bucks about to expire. Any recommendation and are resealable bags available. Thank you
  24. Thank you for all the replies. It helped in my decision to return the book since I just bought it. I was on the fence about it
