Sorry my mistake. I found them in the other set that includes the variants.

Not sure if there is a different in the colossus cover and the gambit cover and I am not %100 sure that the order is correct. Thanks again! :)

There are a number of errors for the X-Men #1 slots in the X-Men (1991) #1-275 (including variants) set.

The first pic below shows the order as is.

    Errors:

    - ‘X-Men 1’ slot should be deleted, because all of the 4 different connecting covers are covered in the following slots.

    - Yes- the Colossus and Gambit covers are really one and the same cover that both of those characters are on; that should be one slot.

    - the Magneto cover slot is missing.

    - order of the connecting covers slots is incorrect. As they were released (see mycomicshop.con for reference), the 4 #1 different covers are technically Covers A, B, C, and D. It would probably be best to change the slot names to those.

    - it does makes sense that the collectors edition (as is) is correctly placed after these, as is the 20th anniversary edition.

    Brian-

I created a custom set that shows the correct order of the 4 connecting covers, labeled Covers A, B, C, D with photos and descriptions. See second pic below.

In the 3rd pic below I included Cert. #s for each, which may help to fix the errors.

    Hello @Lookin4Newsstands

Thanks for this.  The problem is that the different covers aren't considered variants in the system. They show up as #1 First Print.  I will adjust the slot for #1 to reflect your setup, but I can't break them out into their own slots, due to the nature of that particular set.

  2. To Set:

    Amazing Spider-Man (1963) Venom/Eddie Brock Appearances

    Please add:

    Amazing Spider-Man V2 #19

    Amazing Spider-Man V2 #22

These Venom appearances issues are respectively Amazing Spider-Man #460 and #463 in the ongoing series (as noted on CGC labels as well), so please place them in the set chronologically (between Amazing Spider-Man #388 and #500).

    Thanks!

  3. Hi

    For score upgrade consideration:

    X-Men129 in CGC 9.8 = 1200 points.

the last 3 eBay sales + the last ComicLink sale in that grade ranged from $4500-$7000.

    X-Men 137 in CGC 9.9 = 680 points.

There are 6 copies in this highest grade. These are CGC 9.9 sales, which have increased since 2013 (can show screenshots of all, if needed):

    June, 2013: $1,989 (ComicLink Auction)

    November, 2017: $3,107 (GPA)

    February, 2022: $7,945 (ComicLink Auction)

    Thanks

    #129 adjusted

#137 adjusted according to sales for 9.8 in GP Analysis.  I did not adjust for 9.9, this would throw off the scores for the other grades.  I will talk to my colleagues about this issue on Friday, and make a determination then.

    Thanks!

Hi folks, can anyone tell me if there is a set that contains The Marvel Guide to Collecting Comics?

    1068616722_MarvelGuidetoCollectingComicsnnCGC9.8.thumb.jpg.b26b67de827f3f917e3551cd3fa1419f.jpg

Yes- that’s part of a set I requested last year: ‘Marvel Copper Age 1st Issues (1980-1989)‘

Would you happen to know if that was originally sold or offered separately, or only inserted in Amazing Spider-Man #234?

  5. Please add these to the newly created ‘George Perez Covers’ set - thanks

For future requests, please include cert numbers.  It makes my job much easier, and it ensures accurate data entry.

    Thanks!

  6. Amazing Spider-Man #316 CGC 9.9 MINT White Pages - 1ST FULL VENOM COVER by Todd McFarlane - Rare in Grade- CLOSES TONIGHT OCT. 5 in ComicLink’s Focused Auction:

‘An exceptional CGC 9.9 MT example of one of the most desirable issues in the groundbreaking Todd McFarlane run of Amazing Spider-Man. This issue is the first one to depict a full image of Venom on the cover, making it a major key in the history of one of the most popular characters in Modern Marvel comics. This pristine CGC 9.9 is 1 of only 9 examples ever certified at this tier and just a lone CGC 10 has ever been certified higher. This 9.9 is 130 times scarcer than a 9.8 and as one of the Top 10 ever certified this example is part of the top 2/10th of 1% of all Universal examples!’

Universal (Blue Label) Grade =  0.5 PR.  Incomplete -- Missing one leaf.  CGC would describe this as "Missing one page" -- but we all know that's impossible, as this "72 BIG PAGES ANNUAL" is actually 76 pages -- a front/back cover plus 36 two-sided interior leaves.  :sumo:  In my opinion, this copy's condition grade (apart from the missing leaf) is not high enough to justify a Qualified (Green Label) Grade.

Thanks- the one page (front and back) was ripped out, I should’ve specified that.

  8. Please grade my Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 (1964)

    - Missing 1 pinup page (1st 2 pics shown here would be on front and back of that page).

    - Front and back cover show some wear, see binding missing on piece of upper spine, not sure if that area was glued or if that’s what it would normally look like.

    - some inked in areas: in some open spaces of letters in title logo on cover, in top part of back cover, and bottom of 1st page.

    - some rips and tears on corners of front and back covers.

    - rest is complete and decent shape.

Not sure where my run of Claremont and Bryne X-Men books are, but is that a Newsstand Edition of X-Men 120, or did all of the editions have the standard barcode since it's from early '79?  ???

Absolutely surprised these Bryne XMen books are going for this kind of money since everybody back in the day were cherry picking these off the shelves of the LCS's as they first came in.  :whatthe:

Hoped that I picked up an extra copy of this book here, but probably not as I think I picked up duplicates of only X-Men 94 (lost one of them :(), X-Men 108, the death of Phoenix double issue, and the Days of Future past duet.  (thumbsu

Also hope that my copy of X-Men 120 is not as off-center as that one up there as I was quite fussy about these things, but sometimes you didn't have much of a choice.  :wishluck:

All Marvel issues had a barcode starting 6/76. Starting 6/79 (X-Men #122), both direct and newsstand editions of issues were distributed.

  10. In case anyone’s interested and missed these, had to let these rarities go- they’re in the current ComicLink auction and end Monday night (Memorial Day):

Red Sonja (2005) #0 CGC 10 Gem Mint White Pages (1 of 2 HIGHEST GRADED)

    and

Red Sonja (2005) #0 CGC 9.8 RRP Edition White Pages (1:1000 Variant Sketch Cover - 1 copy graded higher).

There’s a bunch of articles on the CGC 10.0 selling back in 2013 in that Comiclink auction and for that price. You said a few years back so that was the part that I knew was wrong. 9.9’s sold for about $7K-$12K for many years, then a that 9.9 sold 2-3 years ago for a little over $20K, now this 9.9 for just over $40K. If the 10.0 ever came to auction it’s easily breaking $100K.

No that’s incorrect. You’re thinking about a 9.9 that sold in a c-link auction several years ago for about $23K. The 10.0 has only sold publicly once back in 2013 in a c-link auction for $15,449.

Well, it is correct, lol-  meaning the 10.0 did sell on ComicLink- but as I alluded to, I didn’t remember the price- thought it was about 20, but I guess you know the exact price! That was the one I was referring to. I know that gpa doesn’t record their sales (not sure why). How did you find it?

btw, if you’re a Darkseid fan, my previously owned copy of the 1st Darkseid cover (New Gods 2) CGC 9.8 Fantuccio Pedigree (w/ CVA sticker) is listed in their upcoming May auction. 1 of 9 highest on census.
