The host for the Oscars was discussing the impact this movie has all around the world and the new record sales it's making once again this weekend. Would also be great knowing ahead of time that I'd find some of the books I mentioned to you some time ago ( high graded Canadian Price Variants : Archie's Girls #320 in 9.8 ... G.I. Joe #21... Swamp Thing #21, 37, Annual #2 ... Batman #386, 423...Detective Comics #566... Wolverine 2, 3, A.S.M. 238 (9.8), etc... ).

I would agree that the story is a good one indeed. I don't know if I still have my beat up copy but if I do find it this weekend you could have it at no cost

Marvel Graphic Novel #4 ($5.95 cover) is also a first print. It's also the scarcer Canadian Newsstand Price Variant. In my opinion, this would be the edition I'd go after.

Ben, I think you're doing a wonderful job in responding to certain posters after they were very disrespectful to you, honestly they don't deserve a respectful response after trashing your real name (and others) on this public board! There is just so much that is wrong with how they decided to behave !!! I've been contacted by several board member expressing the same disbelief with these posters on how they intentionally and consciously stooped so low on more than one occasion !!! (this is called cyber bullying and CGC should suspend their accounts because these posters feel empowered hurting other posters all-the-while hiding behind a computer screen in the comfort of their homes) In my last post on this thread, I was very polite and respectful, yet two posters felt the need, out of the blue to start harassing me. One poster had been warned by CGC for violating the rules of conduct Friday afternoon and only minutes later mocks this very warning and takes another stab at me. This is not mature adult-like behavior from this one poster and an apology should be in order as some members expressed to me privately! Why would I even want to engage in conversation with online bullies? We should discuss comic books on these boards and not the the posters themselves!!! Many here have taken notice of the fact that these two posters may never have been interested in a friendly conversation because if they were why insult and drag names of members through the mud? A number of members here (including myself) could do the same thing to them and reveal their full names but decided not to because it wouldn't make us any better than they by our actions. Stooping that low is not how we would like to define ourselves today, tomorrow or ever! Once again, we should discuss the comic books and not the posters who come to enjoy a friendly dialogue !

I respectfully need to differ with you in regards to the Canadian Edition labels. "Canadian Edition" should refer only to the 1940's + comics because those books had some different content (cover page at times....and different ads) . Also, the printing slabs were shipped from the USA to Canada thus having a different origin altogether. On a different point, being a Canuck yourself ( I am as well) I'm certain you're aware that at the start of WW2 a law was passed in Canada that limited imports from the USA (this included comic books) therefore Canadians felt the need to create their own content (i.e, thus the creation of Nelvanna , etc...) However, the 1980's is a whole different story. These comics were printed at the same time, same ink, same location with the same content as direct copies (except for the bar code and the price listed on the cover which was slightly higher to compensate for the falling loonie). These Canadian Price Variants were also sold in the USA in certain locations either testing the market with a higher cover price or to fill in under-supplied areas just south of the border (Some large Chain stores such as 'Toy's "R" Us ' sold these books in multi packs but having been shipped from Canada back to the USA the books were not in the best of conditions. Also reach out to Jon McClure who is a Comic Book historian and discovered the 30/35 cent cover price variants that we all collect today thanks to him. Jon is also saying the same thing . I agree with the fact that CGC has not labelled a number of Canadian Price Variants so the pool of books out there are slightly higher but none the less scarcer than their counter-parts and thus , in my opinion more desirable investment-wise in the top grades (9.2-9.8) . CGC accepted a return with one of the books I purchased online and will relabel it at no cost to me and that was nice to hear. Now if only we can get CGC to label them correctly!!! These are not Canadian editions but " 75 cent cover price variants"... ."95 cent cover price variants" , etc... In regards to the discussion on the thread I only noticed afterwards that it was not pertaining to Canadian Newsstands (I did not have time to read all the previous messages)- so my bad. In regards to proving anything, we are all here to have a respectful and cordial discussion about a topic that engages us all and brings the passion out in all of us:) Maybe I'm not following you, so I apologize if I misunderstood but the website I quoted above is a very good source of information that I have personally verified (I am only referring to the Canadian Price Variant articles that he wrote which I can state with certainty the information is very interesting and accurate indeed ) . With all due respect , Canadian Newsstands from the 1980's are scarce to rare in (8.0 +) and not mid to lower grades. These books were printed at the same time on the same printers as the american ones. Try finding a higher graded key Canadian Newsstand in higher grades...very tough. Just look at the CGC census and it speaks volumes (i.e. ASM 238, 252, etc...) The ratio between the direct and newsstands is huge (about 2 percent are Canadian) . there's a great site that has done lots of research and the top senior advisors from Overstreet that pointed out the 30/35 cent books have been pounding the table about the Canadian Price Variants. These books are not foreign books...lots of proof of individuals buying them across the border into the USA as well. www.rarecomics.wordpress.com You shall also find an excellent explanation of why they are rare . The first price guide geared to value these books is also presented for free.

Sorry to read about what happened to you guys. Things like this should never occur. I really don't understand what crosses someone's mind to hurt another individual financially without giving it a second thought. The world is filled with great people but a few are truly rotten to the core. These individuals always get caught one way or another! Please look at the people very close to you, especially so called " friends and clients " and above all, "employees" who know where you live and where you place your comics!!! Maybe those who stole the books will come to their senses and do the right thing and return them !!!!
