Congrats! Glad you like the GSXM.
I just checked and I'll have been on here for 20 years too, as of the 17th. Time flies. Doesn't feel like that long.
Agreed.

I'm thinking 8.0, maybe 8.5. The dark covers show those spine tics so much more.
-
The rippling on the back has me puzzled as well. Front looks nice! 8.5 to 9.0 is my guess
-
7.0 seems possible. Still looks good!
-
58 and appear to be in the highest % on the list.

I noticed I'll have been a member of this site for 20 years on Tuesday...while in Jamaica - life is rough... lol)
It's changed a lot in those years. While I've never been a super-poster, I try to always stay in touch with the site. Lots of "names" have come and gone.
What I've always appreciated is it's made me a better collector. I understand grading much better, what to spot, etc. I've met some great dealers (Bob Storms, Dale Roberts, Reece's, Bedrock, etc.) who I feel comfortable purchasing from. Encountered some dealers that I avoided... (Whatever happened to Crazy Ed? You couldn't shake him if you got caught in his orbit. That's no moon...)
Enjoyed the stories, collecting histories, what people collect, not so much any drama... life's short
The Holiday Secret Santa & Raffle are so much fun as we share in our collecting passion. Enjoyed the Grading Contests of the past. Purchasing from some members has been fun as well. Sharing my artwork (hobby) is personally rewarding.
Over the 20 years (30 years since I got back into collecting), I've completed some grails:
- Entire run of original JLA plus Brave & Bold's 28 - 30
- Entire run of Conan the Barbarian
- X-Men 94 to 300
- GS X-Men #1 - thanks October!
- Entire Marvel Team Up
- World's Finest 200 to end of series in early 300's
- And more...
Was able to meet some great artists from my youth:
- Berni Wrightson (regret not getting a signed print or book)
- Neal Adams
- Jose Garcia Lopez
- George Perez
- and more
Thank you for letting me be a small part of the community. Here's looking towards the future!

I'd say you might get a 7.0, maybe 7.5? Not sure what the crease is above the jet engine on FC

I went yesterday. Solid show with purchases from Bob Storms, Dale Roberts, Reece Comics. Spent most I ever have but really plugged some collection holes. I'm bad about taking pictures so no help there. Got a signed print from Art Adams and Jose Garcia Lopez.

I think 4.5 is a good guess. Love the comic. Don't own it but had the Treasury Size "Batman's Strangest Cases" as a kid!
-
$25 purchase so probably in line. No harm, no foul. (Should've caught the rust stain... lol)
-
All good. Going on Friday.
-
Yeah, I originally thought 8.0 but that rust stain tripped me up. Wasn’t expensive
-
Thanks. I thought 7.0 when I bought it. If it’s a 6.0 it still looks great for $85

Conan The Barbarian
- John Buscema
- BWS by the "teens" - not his "Kirby-esque" of early issues
Swamp Thing
- Berni Wrightson nuff said
- Krydel4, Ken Aldred and grendelbo

Thought there would be a post started?
Was planning on going Saturday but see it's Sold Out online. Not sure I've ever seen that or if they keep Day Of Show tickets available? May try and drive early on Friday now.
Anyone else going?
-
I'm going to re-look mine over... Nice!
-
6.0. The bottom RH corner is what keeps it there for me. Pretty nice overall

I'm a great fan of the house ads comic publishers once ran to promote other issues from their own comic line. In particular the ones that letterer and logo designer Ira Schnapp did for DC between 1940 and 1967 were works of art and very often left me with a palpable desire to acquire and read that particular comic.
So show off your favourite house ads by any publisher here with your present day copy of that same comic if possible!
I'll start. I still remember the day in 1964 that I first saw this ad in an old Blackhawk comic in the waiting room of the Ontario Conservatory of Music on Dundas Street in London prior to my weekly accordion lesson:
It left me longing for a copy of Justice League 3 but at the time I thought that particular issue was gone forever in the mists of time. I've had that issue now since 1980-81 but I'd still like a better copy!
That is not a bad copy! When I got back into collecting 30 years ago, this was the one I bought. I have a VG which I bought for $30. I was 28 and had more cash than my teenage self... My earliest JLA prior to this was #15. I now have all of them which makes me happy.

9.0 due to the spine. Still nice!
-
Nice book! I'd say 6.0 is safe, maybe 6.5?

I was thinking 2.5 to 3.0
Where did 20 years go?

I'm sticking with Bronze Age but I'd accept Silver Age as I was born in 1966.
