Although it seemed to be improving, I've had first-class mail to Canada from the US take up to two weeks to get there, and in one case it had not arrived after 3 weeks. It's just inexplicable.
It’s crazy to think in 2021 we still lost packages in the mail. Most likely lack of care on the employees

That's crazy, I waited 25 days for my last "Priority Mail" to clear customs. Dunno what that's all about. I hope you can sort it out eventually.
I’ve lost hope at this point.

Canadapost strikes again? Or border issues perhaps? Not so long ago a book I ordered from a dealer in Canada ended up in the middle of Australia instead of the UK where I live. I found this app useful in tracking it down:
Thank you, I’ll definitely check it out

Oh jeez, that's horrible. So it was shipped to a Canadian address, blipped off the tracking and never arrived? How was it shipped?
Shipped Priority Mail with tracking. Shows it made it to Chicago (from Dallas) then there’s no further tracking

Shipped Priority Mail with signature confirmation. It made it from Dallas to Chicago then when customs picked it up it never made it to Canada.

I was curious too, wonder if he's not allowed to say until the perp is apprehended, either way
They have the person’s ID who sold them to a local toy dealer here. He has a clean background so prolly not the thief but I’m sure he knows them.

Did you determine how they got to them? Just curious.
Yes, the thieves sold them to a local toy dealer here in Dallas who then consigned to ComicLink. I have them back now.

All's well that ends well....a lesson learned and luckily not the hard way. Happy for you Daniel...although I was eyeing the Love Experiences ..beautiful book
You’ve got something way nicer then that on the way! It is a really nice copy and the Carson City pedigree just adds to it.

Spoke with Douglas and everything seems to be going to work out. ComicLink is a standup company willing to make it right! Thanks again Bumble and everyone else.

This is great how fast this was figured out and partially "resolved". Great work by boardies once again. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.
That's alarming seeing how they got in through the top. So is this a unit inside one of those renovated warehouses? Look like they laid steel mesh cable across the top which sounds pretty good to me. Not too good on the supports that were supposed to hold the mesh in place though.
It’s a Public Storage facility. Just the regular indoor kind you see everywhere. Apparently all of the climate controlled ones are built this way. I won’t be storing anything of value in a storage unit ever again. Clothes and furniture!

Put on something sexy and let me know what kind of profanities you like.
It’s 5 degrees here so best I can do is my Spidey jammies with the feet on em, is that sexy enough?

There you go.
And glad you found your missing books. Hope you get the rest of the missing stuff back as well.
Thanks! Surely they can trace it back to the thief now.

If someone calls that number, asks you what you're wearing and then screams profanities at you for 10 straight minutes......don't worry.
That's just me.
Maybe I should message him privately w my number hahaha

I hear you, Daniel. I hope you get them all back, and your other belongings, too.
I collect vintage photographs and there were several in the box with the comics. I doubt I’ll get those back but you never know, I thought I’d never find my comics either.

Stinks. I remember when you posted your win of the great Carson City Love Experiences #1.
I love that book. Hopefully it gets returned to me. Luckily my expensive books weren’t in the unit. These 5 books aren’t worth a whole lot of $ but I love all these covers and the high grade.

That the books were on ComicLink instead of eBay leads me to believe that the thief knew what they were after, where it was, and how to get rid of it in the most profitable manner. The thief knew enough to get the books up for auction.
So, “friend” who helped load books into the storage unit, disgruntled family member, or shifty storage facility employee? No chance anyone knew they were there other then me.

Seems rather brazen and foolhardy to break in, get graded books with a clear serial number that identifies them and ship them off to a niche auction house where they now have possession of the books and are easily traceable back to the perpetrator. Are you sure, OP, that this was not a case of a non payment of a storage unit that was later sold to a speculator? Just putting it out there...I've sen a few episodes of Storage Wars...
This is the broken in unit they ransacked and stole lots of my stuff, not just my comics. You can see they came in thru the top. The cops came and fingerprinted the unit. I wouldn’t spend crazy $ on comics if I couldn’t afford to pay my storage unit.

I think C-Link stole the books straight out of the storage facility themselves. They followed the HA auction, saw that you were the buyer and followed you to your storage unit. They felt the original owner in the HA auction didn't give them a solid chance and they want to show the cgc boards and the world that they are truly the better comic auction house. No possible alternate explanation exists!
This has to be what happened!

Any response from Clink? I'm curious how they will handle this. Hope they do the right thing and get on it.
I left 2 voicemails. They’re offices aren’t open until Monday morning so I’ll know something tomorrow.

If they sell for high prices due to all this publicity, maybe you can keep the net proceeds instead of the comics. After they find the actual culprit, that is.
I wouldn’t want the $, just want my books back

I have to imagine books were all sold to another party ( dealer/comic shop or collector ) that subsequently listed them for sale on C-link...no thief is that stupid?
This has to be what happened. Someone that breaks in and steals stuff probably doesn’t know about comic link. Most likely a pawn shop.

Depending on when you think they were stolen, while you can prove you owned them in the past, how can you prove you didnt sell them to someone who sold them to someone who consigned them to auction. That's going to be the thing. I assume the consignor isn't going to be the insufficiently_thoughtful_person thief and might have some push back on the claim.
I filed a police report showing the books were stolen.

I wrote a letter to Washington to have them open a case or something to track it. The post office said because it’s been lost that long I had to write a letter
