  1. Imma guess that the show would stand on its own.... a "Better call Saul" of sorts... or "Prometheus"... set in the same universe yet totally independent story wise...
  2. my problem is when a seller mentions "Mint" in any portion of their selling... its like I'm setting myself up for disappointment... case in point I took a chance at a NYX 3 listed as Mint almost perfect what have you... sure enough book is more NM 9.4 range... I like it when the seller underestimates a book better... stating a book is NM 9.4 range because a couple meniscal tics on the spine for a otherwise flawless book... Unless a seller states "I am fairly confident in my grading this will be a 9.8" I'm becoming wary... Even if they say 9.6/9.8 I'm thinking 9.4... unless they can back it up in detail...
  3. at the moment #2 for both #1 is going to be hard to beat he has like 50 books... I just want a run 1-25... my first crack at this kind of thing
  4. "Where does he get, such wonderful toys?!?" Deep dark web my friend + low balling the out of people haha whats the deep dark web?
  5. anyhow… I'm committed… I was thinking about CB #8 as my next purchase… but Instead it'll be detective comics 359… I should have these already but I dropped a load of cash on a 9.8 run of Cerebus 1-25(well 5-25 in 9.8 at least)… mostly file copies… I don't know what got into me… that pretty much translates into a 9.6 Hulk 181…
  6. "Where does he get, such wonderful toys?!?"
  7. let's not forget… in some scenarios in todays world; women are becoming the bread winners… not a bad market for BA12 to be in as these young women begin to have careers(cosplayers included)… I think of certain books like Captain Britain 8; Detective Comics 359, Batman 181… and my fave NYX #3...
  8. Agreed...not the right avenue for that book at all. The people who want this book have better things to do on a Friday night. Jim I think there's a great point to be made… Who is the market for this book?!? People in there 50's-60's that collect Golden age books? I grew up when Wolverine was just starting to gather some gas… I always wanted a Hulk 181… Fast forward today… Ive owned a few; now that I am adult I can make it happen… I collect Copper and Moderns; so what?!? those are the books I like; and grew up with… HQ is attracting a different market that will presumably grow in the future… as with Deadpool… there's probably hoards of young people that want the book now but probably when they mature into buyers will finally have a piece of that pie… not necessarily the market I am in but I am familiar and do recall the animated series… now if TMNT can hit an increase in the next 10 years… now what I remember was when I was 26… working at a restaurant… IH 181 was in the 1k range… I always eyeballed a 9.0 at 968 dollars or so…. it never happened… worked out for me later on when i bought a raw copy for 800 flipped it into the 9.0 I have today but thats a span of 10 years and my have the prices changed...
  9. -J. at this rate; I can't believe it…like I said in a previous post…. I bought a 9.6 SS for 400 many years back… ended up selling it back to the original owner for 700 who in turn sold it for 1k… now we're looking at a 2k book unsigned?!? I really think this is unprecedented… It's almost as if all the variant crazed children have grown up into adults ready to fork out the cash(including myself)… in terms of collecting maybe perhaps the .35 cent variants are the best comparison from the past…
  10. am i missing it, or is this one unsigned? its the angle and the glare… good observation though...
  11. Wow... That raw copy... The 9.6 sold immediately for $1,250. http://item.ebay.co.uk/191542194964?item_hash4=722b04fe&LH_Complete=1&LH_BIN=1&LH_BO=1&_ipg=200&_pgn=1&rc=nt&rmvSB=true Seller of that probably left about $700 on the table. An hour and a half later the raw copy closed at $1,400: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Amazing-Spiderman-678-MJ-Venom-Variant-9-6-NM-Joe-Quinones-/251881331301?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa54c1a65 That's why it's always a good idea to do your research whether you're buying or selling. -J.
  12. I remeber how the maxx stood out amongst the many many valiant image titles at the time... I stopped collecting once image came out only because it seemed like everyone was collecting comics at the time...
  13. Sam Kieth's "Blue Period"… Don't mind the carpet; I think those white flecs are frosting…
  14. to SS or not to SS that is the question...
