Still... times like this make me think the cross media value bump on books is out of control - it seems like every one of them gets bid on like they're the next Walking Dead, despite the probability of that ever happening again. Problem with this book is if it's the next walking dead it will get even more insane with these print runs. You're talking 1-3k for a #1 and 3-5k for a nycc #1 which sounds crazy when I type that but the book just wasn't released to the masses and most will be in private collections. I know I might sell one or two copies but the original run I bought off the stands will never leave my hands. I will do my best to choke down one of these comics - in a slab - if one sells for $5000 anytime soon The likelihood isn't great but if the series is popular hold on and enjoy the ride.

It's over $300 now, early on I figured a $350 or so finish. Not so sure anymore. I guessed $350-400 myself but $6-700 looks within reach at this pace. Crazy.

That corner on the bottom front is worrisome. Looks to be partially blunted. Maybe just my phone.

This. When I saw that #1A cover for the first time there was something about it that was special. The Phantom #1 is a close second.

I might be wrong but I don't think Bill is looking to move any of his collection especially a nycc #1. He's been one of the main Enormous collectors on these boards for the past six months.

Yeah. Their #1 code word is 'bend over'. It's automatically applied to your order at checkout.

I can understand price increases of course but $125 for a book I can get off the bay for $30-40 just seems a bit much.

Don't think Mile High gives discounts on variants. Might be wrong though. I know they had a 60% off that was 'sweetheart' a few days ago.

At my pull shop, when I added the book well before the order cut off for #1, I tried to sell it a little bit to the owner, but he didn't think his clientele would be interested. He is probably right for the most part. He ended up ordering a single issue of each of the first six issues just for me. I was the only guy pulling it. Same here. Was the only person that had it on their pull list in my area up until issue 4. Talked 2 other guys into reading the first couple issues and they jumped on board after that.

This book finally gave me an excuse to send in my stack to cgc. Got about 5 books in there including 1 nycc 2 1As and 2 phantoms. Just hoping for 1 9.8 for my personal collection

This one's in rough shape from what the seller states but it is a cheaper option.

If you're wanting to make a quick profit and aren't in for the long haul then the next few days is probably the best time for that. I doubt I'd sell any right now but if someone's willing to pay a premium then I could see a few sellers wanting to free up some cash for other stuff.

I think the NYCC #1 will always be the top dog just because of print run but as I mentioned before the two that I always prized in my collection were 1A and Phantom #1. Maybe personal preference but NYCC just didn't have the same appeal to me as those others.
