  1. i just got ca ught up on the last four pages of this thread and it's got lots of good and funny reading !!!!
  2. i have thought to a collection of a "coin" cover subset !
  3. if i had a very valuable submission then yes.... i would probably be nervous but CGC gets stuff like that all the time ,,,,
  4. WOW GREAT KEY 5.0-6.0 range .. should get it graded and let us know .....
  5. if that is not mega high grade i don't know what is ...... 9.4-9.6 or better
  6. two(2) buy it nows sold for $1500 each already in the sold listings on eBay and a third copy that went up for auction fetched $811 your copy looks much nicer than the one that sold in auction so if it was me i would take 12 revealing pictures, describe everything in detail and put it up for auction with a minimum bid of $1499 if it doesn't sell after a few weeks and you don't need the money right away then lower your price $100 every few weeks until it does sell
  7. every time i see a book i am interested in, and it is in a brand x holder i just think of what a shame it is, i then move on and always wonder.... why did that person foolishly submit to brand x instead of CGC?
  8. Thanks i'm going to read it ... i'm not up on the card market anymore like i used to be , but i had a feeling something fishy was going on when i saw a low grade key that looked great except for a major crease go for double what a similar graded card was going for , so i have a feeling that someone has learned how to iron out creases good enough to slip them past the graders ??
  9. sounds like it would be better to buy lower grade raw cards these days than graded cards
  10. thank God most all my graded cards are mid grade at best , same as my CGC graded comic books
  11. Just kidding and i think it is worth grading and would look great in a CGC slab
  12. smart idea to google them , so we know that there are at least 30 chess covers,.. but i bet there are many more...
  13. only two copies graded higher than this beauty.......(this is not my comic)
  14. our cousins vacationed with us up north and i specifically remember reading IH 181 that they brought up with them .. but we put those vacation comics through the wringer and it was probably a CGC 3.5 by the time everyone of us was done reading it .....he can't remember if he took it back home with him or not but either way it is long gone but not forgotten ............
