I too followed this auction closely. I was shocked to see it go for soo much. ($6,600 with buyers premium, plus sales tax in most states). I would be thrilled for any boardie to own this book. However, I agree with Mike, this is butchery. I’m not sure I’ve seen such a terrible case of color touch removal before. I have no idea how this graded as a 5.5. I would prefer many books graded 3.0 or so with creases and spine spilts to this. I don’t know if the provenance part is really possible although it would be great. At the end of the day, it just makes me sad. I think there is a place for restoration removal, but wow, this is so awful. Once again, owning a Planet 1 is better than not owing one, but which would you rather have? I know I would rather have my restored 6.0.

Weird Fantasy #19, raw 1.0, lots of moisture damage, tape along length of spine. Asking $35

Strange Tales #15, raw 1.8/2.0, cover is detached. Not an easy book to find. Asking $99 sold!

This Magazine is Haunted #2, raw 3.0, presents very well but bottom staple detached from cover. Asking $69 Sold!

Jungle Comics #33, raw 3.0. Zolnerowich, crocs and taillights! top staple popped, 1.5 inch tear at bottom of back cover. Asking $59 Sold!

Jungle Comics #31, raw 2.0. More Zolnerowich awesomeness. Front cover presents much better than that. Cover attached at both staples but someone still put a piece of tape down the length of the spine. Bug chew on back, some pages, and a small hole throughout, but does not appear to affect the art. Asking $39 Sold!
